When my husband and I first moved to Sammamish from Minnesota, we noticed the unusual number of power outages in comparison to other places we've lived, so, being the gadget guru that he is, my husband immediately had a Kohler natural gas generator installed. When the power goes out, the generator automatically turns on, without us having to lift a finger. And, when the power returns, the generator turns off! The only thing it doesn't run is the oven and the dryer. Unfortunately, the company that installed it went out of business, but the guy who installed our generator (Mike) went to work for D Square Energy Systems, Inc. (www.elitegenerators.com) in Issaquah. Now Mike maintains our generator, coming around a couple of times a year to take a look at it, making sure it's doing it's thing properly, and fixing anything that might be out of whack. I would recommend giving D Square a call if you need installation of a natural gas generator. We've had great success with Mike especially.
