You'll find yourself paying a bit more for your hamburger and fries here, but the sandwiches are pretty good and everything seems a lot fresher than other "fast food". The other thing you are paying for is that, even though this is a fast food place, you do get seated and waited on. The Shakes here are wonderful!! They are made with real ice cream and can be had with all kinds of extras and different flavors. You can also do mix and match - like half chocolate and half mocha - and they put it side by side into the glass. :-) They will also put in sundae toppings into them as well!

Tonight I went to Steak n Shake expressly to get some of their chili. It has excellent flavor and is quite enjoyable. I am not a big fan of all of their food, but their chili (with onions added) is quite tasty. I wish I knew it's nutrition values though. I emailed them at corporate and they said if I don't hear from them within THIRTY days to IMMEDIATELY contact them. That's a long time!

Good food and wonderful shakes. A really great addition to our area and recently started adding new restaurants. The burgers are really good and the desserts wonderful. Prices are super good for the quality and quanity of food served. A fun place for the entire family sort of 50's style. Go try it out.

I don't usually bash restaurants too much. I try to post only positives, y'know. But I need to get the word out that Steak N Shake is not a very good place to go. The two times I went, once in Missouri and once in Irving Tx, the food was below average. The hamburgers are nothing spectacular or even good. They tend to be slightly burnt and have a strange taste. Strange in this sense means raw bacon taste + weird meaty taste. The fries are dry and overly salted. The shakes were above average, but they were also above average in price. The decor (1950's bop) is gawdy to say the least. Add to the whole experience the service of a fast food place (which, fairly enough, it is) and you can see how I decided on the 2 star rating. I may stop by in the future for an over priced shake, but then again I have a QT right around the corner that serves nearly the same product at a cheaper price.

Well the service at this particular location leaves something to be desired, but the food is pretty decent.. I usually just stop by late at night if I'm craving a milkshake - those are the best! The service at this location is usually lacking because they are normally short staffed. So if you aren't in a hurry, I recommend them. Also if you just want a place to just sit around and have a nice milkshake alone or with a friend, it's a great place for that as well!
