I used to go to Lollicup until I started attending UCI and discovered Cha For Tea. I hate that the prices are so incredibly high (about $5 for a boba drink) but the drinks are always good. The barrista type of people there even offer to adjust your drink to your taste every single time no matter how many people are there. The one near UCI is always packed. It also opens until 1 a.m..

I've been dragged here a few times from friends and the place is not bad at all. But my thing is that for 3.50, I rather go to jamba juice and buy a smoothie which is more filling than the light teas they offer here. This place is very cool cause you can see the teas being made in front of you and shaked. I would recommend everyone to try here but just to warn you, the prices are pretty high. BOBA is the bomb.

I really like Cha for Tea, I eat there every time I go the Irvine Farmer's Market (right in the parking lot) on Saturday mornings. They have a ton of different tea drinks (with and without boba), and they are really good. The "milk" teas are made with non-dairy creamer, I'm not sure why, but they are happy to substitute soy milk if you prefer. The teas are very refreshing and flavorful. They always offer to adjust the sweetness once you've tasted it.
But the reason that I really love Cha is the food! I am practically addicted to their steamed chicken dumplings. They have a lot of fresh cilantro on the top, and a delicious dipping sauce. I believe that all of their food have some tea in them as well. Try it out!

I had a lychee slush thing with boba. I also give the boba 8/10 and the lychee... 8/10.
Good place.

I don't know why it's so popular. I think it's because of all the hype. They have helpful and friendly workers there that focus on customer satisfaction, but it's not worth the price of the drinks.

This is a welcome break from the burgers and sandwiches. This is not your regular greasy chinese place. The food here is very healthy and is cooked in green tea. They have lunch specials for $4.99.
Main dishes include crispy chicken, orange-flavored chicken, curry chicken, basil chicken and minced pork. For your side dish you can choose between rice and egg noodles, or instead go lo-carb by substituting it with salad entirely.
While you're there try their funky teas like mango green tea with bobba, or hot almond tea. They have often have samplers of these at the order counter.
The orders take a little long compared to your regular fast food place but the wait it worth it. The UCI location is open till 1 AM making it ideal for late night cram sessions.

The thing that excites me about this boba place is the fact that they are open pretty late. The one in Irvine is open until 1am, BUT they do stop serving around 12:30pm. The staff there is wonderful and very polite. The people make the drinks very fast. Their food is VERY tasty as well. The only downfall I see is that there are more people there than there is seating, and while you are waiting it is a little irritating, but the product is worth the wait.
