Pho 99 is one of about three Pho shops (that i know of) in Irvine. Unfortunately I'd have to say it's the worst of the three, however, it's still excellent. The pho has a nice aroma and their beef/chicken/pork sandwiches are absolutely orgasmic (can i say that on here?)
I noticed one time when I went though that there were those... ants with wings on them, I don't remember what they're called, but there were able twenty of them crawling on the ground by my table. It was pretty disturbing, but I'm sure it was an isolated incident.
Anyways, the Pho is good, but just not as good as the other ones in Irvine which have a richer taste.
PROS: Good tasting pho, great sandwiches.
CONS: Not the best. Sanitation an issue?

as mentioned by another reviewer, there's another pho place in Irvine. I personally think this place is not as good as the other. there's not too many selections here.. very basic... and it is pricier than the other place. the food is not bad, but i would recommend the other pho place.

This place has the best noodles I have ever tasted. The prices are quiet reasonable too. Good to go with someone that knows about the menu items since I am not vietnamese and the menu didnt exactly tell me all the details (but I had friends who did). The waiter barely spoke english. But the food was great and they had very courteous service.

I have been in Irvine for a few yrs now. there are 2 main pho places. Pho 99 and Pho Bac.I suggest going to Pho Bac. The pho is average here, nothiung really special or anything like that. for someone who wants to just try pho or doesn't no too much about pho, then going here wont hurt. but for those who know the taste of pho well, i suggest pho bac. the prices are higher than normal here and the service is good. check it out for yourself though.

This is a good local place to satisfy a craving for pho. The restuarant is in a very busy center and parking can be difficult. The pho is good but not great and the prices are a couple of dollars higher than westminster prices. The beef man mi is also pretty good and a god value to boot. All said though, I would rather eat here than drive all the way to Bolsa.
PROS: convenient
CONS: service

Pho 99 is for when you want quick, inexpensive Vietnamese food in Irvine....they have a good basic menu of pho, bun, rice dishes, and banh mi. I like getting the pho with everything, or the bun with chicken, or the Vietnamese beef stew. Sometimes there is a wait here, but I haven't had to wait too long. The service is quick, and you pay at the cash register at the end of the meal.
