I may be a glutton for punishment, but I intend to visit Buca here in Irvine one more time before I pass judgment. Buca in Brea is consistent and impressive, both in service and quality of food. My response to the Tustin Buca, however, was tepid at best. The service was slow (about thirty-five minutes to receive our food) and inattentive (no refills on drinks or bread). The food, unfortunately, did not compensate for the poor service (our meals were luke warm and I question the freshness of the salmon). I am not one to make hasty judgments, so I will return to this Buca (yes, I like pain), but if the meal is no better than the one I first encountered, I will find little reason to spend seventy or eighty dollars here again. Pros: Convenient, lively Cons: lengthy waits for service, cold food, no refills

Family style portions are large and filling. Quality and flavor is not as large. The menu is accurate but the dont expect traditional preparation. We sent back anti pasta salads when listed meats were simple ground paste. Finally had to walk out when meals were not served after 60 minutes. After three requests for the manager we figure he was far to important to discuss problems we had with the bad service.
