Add to the great atmosphe a great looking crowd and awesom food - Plan on spending time in the bar before or after your meal. Highly recomend the cabo azul combo - chile relleno? Shrimp taco and other more. This is the first place to bring a new guest to the coast -- Good views from the outdoor fireplace bar.
Pros: Best Mexican Food hands down - great decor and location
Cons: need a reservation on busy nights

This happens to be my first time writing a review. My family has been eating at the original Tustin location since 1989. Yes, I've also had lunch & dinner at the Irvine location. Food is the same, it's just not the original location is all. My entire family prefers this small setting vs. the large corp type resturants. Yes it's also a bit more expensive, yet well worth the money. As for me personaly, I eat their on balance 2 to 3 times every month. Their rice & beans are fantastic, the tacos, burritos and everything I've had on the menu are all great & their families own salsa is some of the best. I highly recomend Jalapenos. Enjoy

My family have been going to Super Mex Restaurant sience the mid 1980's. There will never be any other Mexican restaurant than our holy super mex in Fountain Valley. Located on Brookhurst Street

And it is pretty good too. I know people from LA that come down to party over here in Irvine.
Cover may be steep ($20 on Saturday) but if you get there early it's free.
I can't comment on the food, I have never eaten there. The music varies from Swing, Top 40, Salsa, depending on the night. I recommend calling in advance to make sure the music is of your liking.

I loved eating at Chipotle restaurant in Irvine, CA. The prices were very reasonable, and the food was so fresh and healthy! I ordered the Burrito Bol which is all the insides of their burrito, yet in a bowl without a tortilla. It included rice, beans (black: my choice), pico de gallo, sour cream, and grilled chicken. I also ordered guacamole, which cost extra. Their rice is amazing as it is infused with cialntro and lime...very tasty! I heartily recommend this restaurant!
