I went there expecting a place better than Panda Express. When I got there, I ordered garlic chicken for one of my items. The lady then starts to put orange chicken into my plate. I do not see how "garlic" could be mistakenly heard as "orange". I tell her it was "garlic" chicken, and so she just dumps out the orange chicken back, and scoops up the garlic chicken, putting that into the same plate. So now I have orange/garlic chicken. I look at her amazed at what cheapness and disregard for customers I just witnessed. Then, she asks for the second item and keeps pressuring me to make my choice when there was no one else in line to buy food. I felt like I was getting food in a high school cafeteria. I don't know if it is a cultural thing, but this is the worst customer service experience I have ever received at a restaurant. The food is overpriced. It tasted average, but similar to the lady working there, it was cheap. Servings were extremely small compared to Panda Express, and the quality and taste did not match up either. From now on, i'm going to drive the extra 2 miles to Panda Express whenever I want Chinese.

The best source of Chinese Dim Sum in the OC inarguably comes from the Cerritos area. That's not practical if you live in South County. Irvine has a two excellent locations for Dim Sum, but if you want the real stuff, head over to China Garden on Jeffrey and Walnut. You may have to wait an hour or more if you arrive at peak times, but the wait is worth it. Carts filled with platefuls of dumplings and rolls zigzag between the customer-filled tables, and waiters carry trays right out of the kitchen to add to the mouth-watering mix. Unless you flag down the waiters and trays, you're likely to miss out on the goodies. The place is quite noisy; but that's in the spirit of celebration and Chinese good eats.

I have been dining there with my family for several years. The ambience and decor is fantastic! The waiters are always there with a ready smile (ask for Alan). But without a doubt, the food is what keeps me coming back for more.
OUTSTANDING!!!
p.s. Try the aromatic shrimp/scalops or the heaven, sea and earth

I am an asian woman leaving in LA over 10 years. I love Chinze food so much cause can't find such pure and ideal asian food overthere, especially, fried rice that I love it.
How does that guys knows that "certainly not real chefs who know about Asian cuisine"? Maybe I am not an asian!!! Anyway, I am highly recommended to enjoy food at this restaurant.

This is the real deal Shanghai style Chinese food. If you go, ask the waiter/waitress for their recommendations as they do serve some "gringo" food which is terrible as with the authenticity of the people and place they are not accostomed to making orange chicken or a General Zhou's dish. Some of the dishes I've tried with great pleasure are "dou miao" (Chinese greens), "Xiao Long Bao" (steamed dumplings), twice cooked pork, lemon chicken, beef and broccoli and steamed whole fish. You can't go wrong with this place...and the prices are unreal...10 times better than Pei Wei's and half the cost.
