We recently have been to Zabaglione Cafe on several occassions. On our third visit to the cafe the waitresses remembered us as "recent regulars" and even remembered our seating and drink preferences. The staff is warm and welcoming. The food is incredible! Make sure to try the calimari - All I can say about it is WOW!!
While it is by no means a "fancy" restaurant, the prices for excellent food more than make up for the lack of fanciness - and it's better to be comfortable while indulging!!
The biggest distraction during dinner will be the pastry display - You'll be thinking of dessert before you've even ordered your meal (or maybe that's just me)!
Our friends say that my husband and I know all of the great Italian places to eat in New England and I would definitely put the cafe near the top of my list of casual Italian.

They carry the usual plants, seeds, garden tools, mulch, etc. But what makes this place unique is they have a couple of rooms filled with delightful gifts. Gardening gifts, birthday gift ideas, and more. They have things like decorative flags, windchimes. You can pick up some nice items here.

Great food and great intimate atmosphere. The owners and staff are very friendly and accomodating. I highly recommend the lobster bisque and crab cakes as well as their breakfasts! Definitely need reservations for dinner but can come and go easily for breakfast and lunch.

This is a very nice family place to go to on a Sunday in the late spring or summer. THey have absolutely the best apple cider donuts....in the fall, there is a long line of people just waiting to get the donuts. They have great apple cider, apple pies, etc. A particular favorite in the fall season. Other times of the year, you can also get seasonal fruits and veggies. They also have a small gift section with soaps, toys, candies. They also sell their own wines made from fruits. They offer wines samples for you to try. They have a little animal petting area too.

I can't believe I grew up 20 minutes from Ipswich and never knew this place existed. Thank goodness friends took us there one weekend. They warned us that it wasn't fancy, but they neglected to say the ambiance is down to earth, cozy, and friendly. I could have stayed all night! The pizza was fabulous, the prices were unbelievably affordable, the service was great, and I will definitely be going back -- often!
Pros: Great pizza at an unbelievable price
Cons: It does get crowded; be prepared to wait for a table on a weekend night
