I had a very unfortunate incident occur while I was attending massage therapy school here. I am a recent graduate and at the beginning of the year in an open clinic I was paired with a male massage therapist who sexually assaulted me by touching me inappropriately many, many times in different areas and in different ways throughout an hour massage. I reported it to the school the second I got off the table and was not only pressured to stay that day but sat scared, crying, shaking, and an absolute wreck while this man then took clients for the rest of the public clinic that day (on of which was a 16 year old girl). \r

I was told the school took this matter very seriously but 6 weeks later, after stringing me along, decided not to terminate this man and let him graduate instead. He is now a licensed massage therapy practitioner and I am left to pick up the pieces of my life as I find a way to recover from this abuse by a fellow student and the school. I have been diagnosed with PTSD and have breakdowns often as a result of this incident. I trusted the school to not only teach me and equip me for a massage therapy career but also to keep me safe. They could not do that and now have made it possible for others to be abused. \r
