My cat, an old and dear white mixed breed Persian, named slippers, was ailing. After numerous visits to a local doctor we brought her to Iowa City to see Dr. Allan Berger for a consult. He decided to operate and (I think) remove her spleen. She underwent surgery and after a hard recovery is fine (still old and getting older).
If we had not brought her to Dr Allan, I am sure she would no longer be with us!
He is always available to talk to us about her problems and most important her diet.
I am very thankful he took the time and energy to help slippers.

This store is fun to browse. Make sure you have an hour or more because it is so hard to leave. They carry lots of gems, jewelry of all kinds, books on all topics and lots of little gifts for all occasions. I have bought jewelry here and they really try to get you what you want. The employees are friendly and very helpful. You can sign up for there email newsletter and they will send you there sales and other going ons with them. I really think this is a fun place to visit.

Yansky Auto located in Iowa City Iowa is a great business. We need to tow our vehicle home and they did an outstanding job. The employee knew what he was doing and the prices are reasonable. I was able to call them and they came very fast. I was very impressed! If you ever need a tow call Yansky Auto, they are great.

I like this bakery, but there are not too many bakeries that I would pass up. They bake the items here daily so everything always smells so good. Cottage Bakery also serves bottled water, coffee and pop. The parking is a bit difficult to come by in this area, but it is worth stopping by this location if you get the chance.

I like this bowling alley. They have bowling leagues, so be sure to call ahead and find out when open bowling is. There are house balls and shoe rentals available. The indoor mini golf is fun for a change. I have not tried the food they serve. There is also another room for billiards.

This is a great place for those out of towners who do not have curb side pick up to drop off their recycling. Plus this is a great place to unload tons of cardboard all at once. You can go at any hour to drop off your glass, plastic, cans, newspaper, cardboard and phone books. Be prepared that come Saturday morning, they are going to be busy! There are big metal containers that are clearly marked for tossing in your items.

Good selection of foods for your pet. The puppies/kittens are in somewhat dirty environment. I would question if they are the result of a "puppy mill" type situation. Reasonable prices on the pets though. Store is clutters and a bit dirty. Offer flowers in the spring and fresh produce in the summer in the parking lot. Has it’s own parking lot, but not very well maintained (lots of pot holes).
