Indy 500 History 3/30/2006

The IMS Hall of Fame Museum, located within the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, is filled with delightful racing paraphernalia, all meticulously preserved. The museum is filled with cars from all of the 80+ years of Indy 500 history. Children can even climb in a car to have their picture taken. A small theatre area shows a historical movie. You can also take a ride around the track, as long as they are not doing maintenance. more

Racing Fans.... 8/15/2005

If you are a racing fan you've gotta come to this great little museum. The price is cheap, cheap, cheap! $3.00 for adults, $1.00 for children 6-15 and under 6 is free. They have a great little ride you can take around the track for an additional fee where they will give you information and history on the track itself. They also have a theater inside that you can sit and learn more about the drivers and the track. They have a bunch of old cars out on display that are great to look at. You can sit in a race car and have your picture taken. The staff there will use your camera or theirs, it doesn't matter to them. If you use their camera the price for the picture is $5.00 but it looks great and well worth the money you put out for it! more

great idea for company outing 8/15/2005

If you are a local business here in Indy...and take your employees out for a company out of some sort every year then give this a shot, you can get a group deal put together and take everyone around the track on the bus, kiss the bricks and get some great company photos, the tour of the media center is interesting and the gift shop and musuem has something for everyone to see. more

For race fans 8/12/2005

Interesting historical collection in the museum, from early race cars to recent Indy 500 winners. Admission is cheap but the best buy is the bus trip around the track (about 3$). Also has a gift shop, so you can buy souvenirs for the race fans in your life. Open almost every day of the year. more

Must go place if you are in Indianapolis. 8/7/2005

If you are in Indianapolis, you must go visit the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum. The museum is located inside of Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The museum has a collection of previous Indy 500 cars and memobilia. It costs only $3.00 for an adult and $1.00 for 6-15 year old kids. The price is very reasonable and you lean a history of Indy 500 race. There is a nice gift shop inside the museum. They have nice selections of Indy 500 and other racing suveniors. We took my family to this museum when they visited us a few years ago. I get impressed every time I visit Hall of Fame Museum. more
