I didn't quite know what to expect out of Aunt Ruthie's Tea Time when I signed up my Brownie Troop to attend a tea party.
WOW. I was so impressed by the entire experience. The owner has really put a lot of energy into creating a Victorian setting in a small house on the Westside of Indianapolis.
You are required to pick an outfit from her collection of gowns and "prom dresses". You must complete your look with hat, gloves & purse. Of course, there are outfits for boys/men, too. You even get to pick out shoes & jewerly.
Next, we played party games & sang songs. The owner is a wonderful musician and played the guitar as we sang.
Then we had a brief overview of manners and we treated to a feast of sandwiches, fruit, vegetables and more. We enjoyed tea and lemonade and then were served a piece of a handcrafted TEAPOT cake. Delicious.
Aunt Ruthie's tea time is the perfect spot for birthday parties, bridal showers and more.
You won't be disappointed.

B-Sides is one of the most inviting used Cd stores I've been to. The store isn't too bright, and it's not too dark. It's got a nice assortment of posters on the walls to give it a music-y feel. Their prices on CD's are average, but the DVD's are usually slightly lower than you might find elsewhere. Employees are friendly. It's just a cool place to be.

If you need real quality paints, brushes, canvases, etc. this is where to get it. They also have a nice selection of portfolios (I gave one to a friend in landscape design as a graduation gift). They are a bit off the main drag, but worth looking into if you are into the real deal when it comes to art.

Beth Lucas School of Dance is a small but nice dance studio! It has been around in the community for a very long time. Matter of fact my mother took dance lessons there when she was a kid! (and I am 26) I also took lessons there and my daughter probably will too when she's old enough! Downside is that there building is a little old!

This Borders Books is located in the heart of downtown Indianapolis, near Circle Center Mall. Their selection is massive, with several different areas and levels. There is a small coffee and snack cafe on the lower level; it's a great place to sit down and read, or just relax. They have many technical books, as well as the best sellers.

The antique Morris-Butler house, located on the near north side of Indianapolis, provides a look back to life near the turn of the last century. The home is lavishly and beautifully furnished, featuring the wonderful Victorian-era decor of the day. The tourguides are extremely knowledgeable, and provide an entertaining tour for all ages. Especially interesting is the fourth-floor tower, which provides a very nice view of the surrounding area.

There are two ways to attend this waterpark. By staying at the Holiday Inn, with the special water park rooms.... OR have a birthday party.
The rooms, are ALL higher during any time that children could possibly be out of school. And the parties are only available from 4pm-10:30 Sunday night through Thursday night. SO if you want to go, you're going to pay.
BUT it IS a lot of fun. If you are an adult, and attend as a "chaperone" at a birthday party, your admission is around $10. Usually as many adults as children attend the parties...
This is great in that it keeps the attendance down at the park and it's never TOO crowded. But it also keeps you from attending very often.

Yes, there is a restaurant here, and it's pretty good. But we go to play pool. You rent tables by the hour, and the value is very good. I like that it is smoke free...too many pool halls are full of smoke!
My husband actually had his bachelor party here. He is into low-key entertainment, and everyone had a great time...and came home sober. :)

We had a girl's weekend in Indianapolis. We took the 5 & 9 yr old. It was great and even us adults had a good time. The group interactions were great. The haunted house was worth the $6.50. The only con would be at the haunted house. There was a recorded voice for the scary haunted house. It said "flight 666 is now boarding", I thought that was crossing the line. But besides, it was great
Pros: Very fun, friendly and enticing.
Cons: None!
