My daughter attends Valley Mills Christain Academy at 5555 Ky Ave. This place is awesome. This is her 3rd year attending this school. As of now they are a preschool, a pre-k and a kindergarten. The staff is amazing. My daughter has always liked the teachers and the directors. I have not meet one person on staff that was not a helpful, friendly and caring person. We have always felt welcomed in this school and the church.

I thought that Tumble Town sounded like a strictly recreational gymnastics school, the kind that "everyone's kids" go to at some point. But in doing a search for schools this summer for my son, who has some talent but hasn't been in gymnastics since he was 4, I kept seeing the Tumble Town and its kids were placing high in competitions. I was really concerned they have a good boys' team, and they do.
I like the way the coaches watch the students. The class sizes are kept small enough that the coaches can work with each child. In the larger classes, several coaches might work with the group.
Because their head coach is from the USSR, they use Russian training methods. The head coach's son is training for the Olympics there, so the boys have the added benefit of seeing daily what they could become.
The atmosphere is upbeat and positive. They have mini equipment for preschoolers, as well as all types of major equipment and training equipment.
Besides the competition and pre-competition classes, there is also recreational, cheer, and a cheerleading team. A ballet school and preschool are also located in the building, and they do Mom's Night Out.
They are located in Veteran's Park in Oaklandon in their own building, so there is no through traffic to endanger the kids. There is a small snack/drink bar there; some of the kids have to be there for hours daily so it is nice to have food available for them.
The facility is quite clean, with some toys for waiting siblings and plenty of viewing seating both downstairs and up.

Trinity offers a daycare starting at age 3, elementary & middle school, after care and summer camp. Both of my kids attend preschool/daycare and we love it! It's been established for 25 plus years so they have a great foundation. It's convenient to downtown and the rates are VERY reasonable.

Got my first racing certificate here. Great teaching, and you can get the package without bells and whistles and get some decent learning in in one morning - after which you're eligible to buy more laps around the track in their car, and come practice any time. There are other packages (like, a half-day that ends with champagne), but what you get really depends on whether you're there to drive or to show off. Showing off might not work so well in the end, since their racing suits are a bit funny, and obviously don't come in all sizes :) - but the school coaches themselves do their best to educate.

My 4 year old daughter attends ballet and tap class at Tippy Toes (Commerce Square location). This is her second year and she loves it. At Tippy Toes, class is 45 minutes and divided into two parts ... ballet and tap. The cost is $38 per month ... no matter if you miss a class or not ... even if it is Christmas Vacation or Spring Break and the studio is closed. This is the part I do not like. They hold a recital in June or so ... it is a very nice production!! The costumes are a little outrageously priced. My daught er's came to around $130 for two costumes. In the fall, your child has the opportunity to sell candy bars and you can use that as credit toward your costume costs. Overall, I really like Tippy Toes.

Sycamore School costs a lot of money. They don't hide it, starting with the $175 assesment fee you are charged to have "experts" watch your two and a half year old play for a half hour in order to determine if they are advanced enough to join their programs.
After looking at several private gradeschools, we opted out of this one. It places heavy emphasis on academics, employing great teachers and only admitting the best and brightest. Although we (like all parents) feel our child is up to it, we felt it was far too rigorous and not playful enough.
I have several friends who teach here and I believe in it for an education, but be sure you know the mission statement before signing up.

We looked at The Orchard School for our daughter. Being our first, fo course we were focused on "the very best" and looked into private preschools/elementary schools for her.
We paid our assesment fee and applied to Orchard, based on their strong commitment to the arts and arts education.
Although the administrators were pleasant enough, I can't help but think that they turned off the charm when I lost my job and became a candidate for Financial Aid (which they do offer on a limited basis).
Although my child didn't get it, I am not sour grapes. I still think it's an excellent school if you can afford state college ranged tuition for your three year old.

This is the best store in the area! They have almost everything that you would be looking for! Their stock is well organized and easy to shop. The staff knows their product very well. If they don't have something, they are willing to try to get it for you!
Their area for kids is great and the crafting area is nice and spacious.
