I like SOF way better than trendy Tuna Town which is just up the street.
Pros: Fresh Fish
Cons: Loud. Does not bother me though...

My best friend lives in Huntington Beach about a 10 min walk from Main St. where this incredible restaurant is located. My second day in we came here and I loved it so much - on my last night I took him and his roomate out here and we went wild. We shared around 5 different rolls and 2 orders of the sashimi salmon (WOW). Wherever they get their salmon from can't be too far from heaven. Perfect texture, temperature, color, just amazing. The ?owner? hooked us up with about 3 or 4 carafes of warm sake as she knew we liked it because we ordered maybe 5 ourselves. I have been to sushi restuarants all over the world as I travel a lot, but none is more relaxed, hip, cool, as Sushi on Fire. I highly reccomend this place if you don't mind spending a little extra cash (the whole strip is expensive anyway) on some REALLY GREAT sushi. Just go here, you won't regret it.
Pros: Amazing food, great staff, close to all the bars, and the beach!
Cons: Parking can be tough but hey what do you expect

Have been here two times, both times really enjoyed the food. This is a great place for some sake-bombs, and enjoying some creative rolls in a fun atmosphere. The second time I went, I brought my buddy as our pre-going out fuel up and pre-party spot and I must say it was PERFECT for that purpose. We literally didn't have to wait for anything, drinks came out very fast and the wait staff was checking up on us constantly. Our food also came extremely quickly and deliciously. The deluxe crunchy roll was great, there's a dragon roll w/ sweet potato also very good. We were also subsequently plied with free sake all evening and as a result stayed longer than intended; we also left a generous tip (30-35%) to thank them for the free sake and great service. Even the two sets of people who sat next to us were friendly and we ended up going out with the people in the next table we met that night! All in all, this was a rare "fantastic" experience and I intend on becoming a regular, even if I just go for a quick bite.
Pros: Good food, amazing service
Cons: Can get crowded, a little hot in the summer

Let me tell you that this is the best kept secret in downtown huntington beach (not that of a secret anymore). The great thing about this place is the constant interaction with the staff. Hardly any wait and they have a wide selection of rolls. Great music!! you can't beat that from deep hopuse, deep soul and lounge type of music. The owner is great. she makes sure that you are taken care of. Hint: Free sake!!! =P
Pros: Great selection of rolls, reasonable prices
Cons: Due to being so busy , you have to be patient

I ordered the Crunchy Roll, and it was delivered to please. Also I ordered the fried tempura plate, well that was amazing too.
What made me sad was that the quality wasn't as high as expected, and by looking at some of the food items, this place was not old fashioned, and bought in bulk.
PROS: Good price, okay food
CONS: Too factorized

Sushi on Fire is the best sushi in Huntington, in my opinion. We have ventured out to try other places, but for the price and the ambience, you can't beat Sushi on Fire. Since more people are learning about what a gem SOF is, it is starting to get pretty crowded on the weekends. I would recommend going before 6:30, or after 8, if you don't want to wait. However, I have never waited more than 15 minutes for a party of two for a table. Sushi bar wait is usually much longer. The ONLY draw back and the only reason I didn't give a 10 is that they don't have a bar, so if you are waiting, you wait outside. Anyway, we usually go here once a week we love it so much. The staff is great, and the rolls can't be beat. If you sit at the sushi bar, as the chef to whip you up something special that is not on the menu - they are awesome and always create something soooo yummy. Enjoy!
Pros: ambience, variety, we always get 'saki on the house!'
Cons: no bar, staff can be slow when they are busy (but that is to be expected)
