Wonderful Japanese Ambiance with Sushi Bar, Dining Room, Tappan Tables and small dark and cozy bar. If you like "old school" restaurants with low lighting and great food and service, this place is for you. If you are looking for something slick and hip - go elsewhere, please. The sushi is always great and is downright cheap compared to other restaurants. They have a wide variety of traditional Japanese fare that never disappoints. Servers are conscientious and prompt. If you want a good table in the dining room on Friday or Saturday night - call for a reservation or you could have a long wait. For those on this site who have left negative reviews I say good riddance to you! More room for me! :) Seriously, this place is great. I have never posted a review in my life - but I just had to defend my beloved MATSU's.
Pros: Yummy Affordable Sushi and Great Service and Ambiance
Cons: It is popular and can be hard to get in on date nights

My husband and I have been going to Spark for years, it was probably one of the first restaurants we went to when we started dating. Now, it's our favorite go-to restaurant whenever we have friends or family in town. It never fails!
The drinks are incredible - try their Pomtini, it's delicious. For appetizers, I generally go for the crab cake (that's if I don't get caught up with the tapenade!). Their pistaschio crusted halibut has ruined me for fish at other restaurants. I order it every time we go, and it is always unbelievably good. The food at Spark is simple and delicious. Unlike other mediocre restaurants in Studio City, Spark has mastered the art of comfort food with a twist.
Service here is great, we've only had great experiences. No rudeness, just helpful and knowledgeable staff. Be sure to make reservations - this place fills up FAST on weekends. Even if you don't, the valet will inform you as you pull up whether or not the restaurant can accommodate walk-ins.
Pros: Excellent food and service, they also have take-out
Cons: I'd go broke if I ate there everyday!

We have been coming here regularly and have never been let down by the food or service. Warning to those expecting the Olive Garden or other chain restaurant menu. Yes, they do have a nice plate of fettucine alfredo, but the majority of the menu is fine Italian dining. During the season, they will offer white truffle (freshly shaved) over a bed of rissotto, excellent fresh fish, and sauces other than your generic marinara, meat, etc. The appetizers are different and unusual. Kevin (our regular waiter) is always able to suggest what is good that night. Let's not forget the wine list - this place has connections to get those high end Italian reds. While some may flinch at $100-$125 bottle, the mark-up is low, and the selection outstanding. If there is a "down" side it is the price - don't take small or picky young eaters here. Be prepared to be surprised and satisfied. Definitely a restaurant to take out-of-town clients to.
Pros: Not your typical Italian fare.
Cons: Not for people who think Italian is just spaghetti and meatballs.

Although Aztecas changes their decor regularly and re-engineers their ordering system, the food is the same always. Great! I love their flautas (but they aren't the best if you get them to go unless you heat them in toaster over when you get home) and my husband loves their taco platters. Even my I don't like Mexican food daughter thinks their quesadillas are great.
