I began eating at Mama Mia's when they were a hole in the wall in Cornelius - I still visit on many occasions because the food is unbeatable. I have been there the past 2 Valentine's Day with groups of people I have encouraged to try this great restaurant. However, since my first Valentine's Day dinner with friends - these past 2 holiday's I have been embrassed by the extremely small portions of food. The cost of food is way high, but for that quality no problem but come on! We do want enough food to taste. And honestly - $5.00 for a salad that has approx. 10 leaves and one small tomato... I've been many times to Mama Mia Too, both for dinner and lunch! Not once have I had a bad or negative experience! The lunch portions are just right for lunch, and the dinner is always too much! I end up taking it home, but for the prices, you can't beat it! Such a wonderful place!

Part 2 of 2.... Next came two of the smallest and simplest salads I've seen in some time. I counted literally 12 pieces of romaine lettuce, shaved carrots and one tomato wedge. On to the important part....the entrees. I had ordered pesto stuffed ravioli with lump crab sauce. Sounds good right? I must say, that overall they weren't that bad but then again, I can't say they were good either. The sauce was entirely too salty (and this coming from a salt fanatic) and there was nothing too special about the dish other than I should mention that I was impressed that the dish did actually contain lump crab meat. The boyfriend ordered their chicken parm with stuffed shells and manicotti. I tasted this myself and the marinara sauce was very, very acidic and the chicken overcooked. The shells were freezer-burned and it just wasn't what we were looking for. At this point, we obviously knew we were skipping dessert. Upon leaving the restaurant the two of us sat in the car both feeling as if we had just eaten rocks. This food just really made the both of us feel a little ill. I should mention that the bill came to about 70 dollars and I had just water with lemon and my boyfriend two bottled beers. We will not be going back to Mama Mia Too. Although I have not yet found fantastic Italian cuisine, I should say that the best pizza I?ve found by far is Tony?s. I believe there are two locations. The slices are enormous, so plan on starting with just one!!

We went to this restaurant twice; the first time the Calamari was not crispy at all and it was full of the frying oil. The steak was over done and was chewy. The sugar on top of the creme Brule was not completely caramelized and we can still feel and taste the sugar granules. The second time we went (because we got a gift card) the Calamari was much better but again the entrees were OK. In both cases the service, althought very friendly, was very slow. Forget about getting beverage refills promptly. They need to hire more staff to attend to their consumers Pros: The Ambience Cons: Slow Service, Food quality, PRICE PRICE PRICE

We discovered Mama Mia's too because a NASCAR driver had listed it as his favorite restaurant. We assumed that someone from the area would certainly know what was good and decided to look it up. Now, we're forever grateful that we followed that impluse (even though it made us feel like crazy fans). We have seriously considered making the nine hour drive from our Kentucky homes just to eat lunch there. Pros: The best Italian food Cons: parking lot needs some work

What a disappointment! After hearing and reading so much about this restaurant I chose to entertain Guests on a special occassion here. The starters were tasty but all the entrees were very average or below average. Nothing special at all and quite pricey for what was served. The service was unfriendly and the atmosphere cold. Pros: starters, adequate parking Cons: value for money, cold atmosphere, unfriendly service
