I am a wardrobe stylist and designer here in Houston and I find More Than You Can Imagine to be the best one-stop-shop for all things high fashion, not to mention at reasonable prices. Every time I go in the girls are so willing to help style me to the nine's and find me just what I need. Their customer service is excellent and their merchandise even better! I have found, Chloe, Gucci,. Mike and Chris, Chanel even Anna Sui there, all in the newest trends and best condition. I love More Than You Can Imagine!!
Pros: Best consignment boutique in the city
Cons: No drawbacks whatsoever. Everything is in mint condition.

This is a really good resale shop. Unlike other thrift stores, the clothes are really geared towards a younger crowd -- older teens and young adults. No baby clothes and no little kids clothes makes for a more peaceful shopping experience! This is my favorite thrift shop, and I love visiting this place.
The negative reviews on this site are really funny! All of them come across as sounding like sour grapes from competitors to be honest.
Pros: Great Thrift/Resale for the younger shopper
Cons: I wish it were bigger.

I disagree vehemently with the previous negative reviews. I liked Yolanda as well but the owner has now taken over Second Childhood's location and is very cheerful and helpful. Also the selection is much larger now that all the new and resale clothes previously at the Holcombe location are available at Fountainview for our shopping pleasure. The prices also seem lower than when Yolanda was manager. If everyone doesn't come and check it out if will be their loss and that much more for me and all the other Second Childhood fans.

Katy Budget Books is a readers Heaven! There is a HUGE selection of books to choose from and you are sure to find something (or many somethings) to take home. The books are all clean, high quality hardbacks and paperbacks. Some are new and some are pre-owned so you get a range of affordability. You can find books here that you cant find anywhere else. They have an excellent trade in policy and staff are very friendly as well as helpful. Parking is really easy and navigation to the store equally easy. They offer excellent hours so you can shop early or shop late as you wish. There are also special events to attend on occasion. This is a GREAT place to shop!

Well, I went to Taxi Taxi for the first time a couple months ago and fell in love with it. The aura is great and the people there are very friendly. One of the workers sat outside with us and we had a very nice chat. They have an abundant amount of cute hats, and other clothing. Just make sure you wash before using! xoxo
Pros: Cute things for very cheap price, friendly workers
Cons: Some of the smells are disgusting

This place is AWESOME! I discovered The Guild Shop a couple of years ago and have been hooked ever since. This shop is full of fantastic furniture and miscellaneous household items. They are a consignment shop and I have consigned a couple of times and made some good money. They pay the consignor's 2/3 of the selling price and only keep 1/3 which goes to chariy. That is the best deal in town on consignments - most keep at least 40%. I have bought many things there too. I think half of my house is decorated with things from this shop. They are affiliated with a church in River Oaks and get really nice donations from people in that area of Houston. Their consignors take in great things too. If you are ever there while they are taking consignments, you see how many people take their stuff in and also you see things that look so good - but alas, they are not priced yet so you have to come back again a few days later!!! Designer clothes are a real bargain here and cheaper than other resale shops. The store is really big so it does take some time to go through it. The price tags have a starting price and then if the piece hasn't sold in a month the price goes down. The dates and lower prices are marked on the price tag so you may see that a sofa is going down on a certain date and you can come back that day when they open and get it for the new marked down price. Very Cool. I found the volunteers to be very nice and helpful each time I have visited the shop. They price stuff every day so there is always something new being put out. I like to look at the vintage jewelry. The jewelry section is the largest around and they have some wonderful pieces and the prices are great. Some of it is fine jewelry and some of it is just fun, funky everyday stuff. If you love thrift stores then you should check this place out.
Pros: variety of items, friendly volunteers, great prices, new parking lot, treasure trove
Cons: Check out line is long on Saturday near closing time but still worth the time or go early!

This shop is a delight to go to. The selection of glass, art, linens, silver, etc. is excellent, and the staff are always helpful and pleasant. I can appreciate when a place takes care to present everything nicely, and the ambiance at Hooke Antiques is lovely. The only downside is that you should be prepared to spend serious money, because good quality antiques don't come cheap. I will definitely visit this store again.
Pros: Great selection, service
Cons: Tad expensive

I think I went to every vintage store and costume shop in the Montrose area over a period of about 2 hours, and I finally found exactly what I was looking for at Vintage Oasis. They are so chuck full of clothes that it looks a little overwhelming at first. But I told the lady (owner, I think) what I had in mind, and she took me right to it. Great selection, and I love the cats! :-)
Pros: great selection, very helpful

You've got to love the chutzpah of a store whose 1800 number includes the name Agatha - which should ring a bell for passionate mystery fans of all ages. Amazing selection of signed, used, and best-selling mysteries hawked by well-versed staff. Strong independent focus here - you're here for selection, not cheap prices. The special events, which include signings and a book club, and the store's newsletter, are part of its charm. A must-visit for mystery fans, and one of the five or so Holy Grails for book lovers in Texas.
