The Alley Theatre is an awesome place for everyone. I really enjoy watching on the plays they put on.
If you go on day of the show, the tickets are half-price. This does not include Friday and Saturday shows. They only take cash and checks so be sure to have something other than your credit card.
Tickets don't cost a whole lot so you can watch it more than once a year!

In this day, a little relaxing music with some friends gets you away from the hustle and bustle that is the big city of Houston. If you're a fan of Blues or even interested in some southern dirty blues, I recommend Etta's Lounge. The live bands there are very talented just amazing. The ambiance is great for friends or even if you want to sit back and relax by yourself. Just make sure you bring a couple bucks and get beer by the bucket!

Unless you're playing a show or it's free, the rest of the world has been destroyed, and there are no fields in which one could frolic, do not attend a concert at this venue. The cleanliness at this venue is appalling, and the staff leaves a lot to be desired. Sound quality is okay and it is a place to see new "talent." Overall, try to see your favorite local group somewhere else.

They used to be in a smaller location, but recently expanded. The new inventory includes a HUGE selection of sheet music, and a fascinating array of musical instruments.
If you're a music lover looking for something in particular, or just looking for an enjoyable place to browse, check out the new H&H location on the south side of the I-10!

When I first thought of watching the Houston Ballet I was thinking that it was going to put a dent in my wallet. I was really surprised to know that you can find affordable tickets. I also like how it's really easy to find parking.
A lot of the ballet shows they put on are really modern so it won't be boring for guys to watch. ONe of the ones I watched almost 75% of the time I was laughing because it was really funny.

If you're not much of an opera fan, I suggest trying the Houston Grand Opera just once. It's located inside the Wortham Theatre and is just a delight to watch and listen to.
Sometimes, they have free shows at the Miller Outdoor Theatre which is also a great place. I went to a few shows with my friends and most...most of us liked it.
I think I'll probably come back if I see something I like. It doesn't cost that much for tickets so don't worry about burning a whole in your wallet.

The Houston Symphony is awesome to listen to. They have regular performances in Jones Hall and FREE performances in the Miller Outdoor Theatre.
They are play different types of genre. They have has guests like Art Garfunkel and even Christian artists such as Michael W. Smith.
I really enjoyed watching them at the Miller Theatre. It's really fun to just sit and listen to them. It would also be a great cultural exposure for kids and might even get them into music.

It is a great place to catch local Houston groups such as Kairos, Deconstruction Crew, Rusted Shut and other audience favorites. Prepare yourself to be charmed by an environment alive with sock monkeys, childhood nostalgia, murals and music that you just can't find anywhere else in this city.

The shows at the Mucky Duck are never sub-par only over par. We love the music and the fun entertainment. The atmosphere is loose and slightly loud, but when someone performs it is all eyes and attention on them. They give or used to give you change in $2 bills. I haven't seen those in a while. McGonigel really has a great place.
