If you’ve bought their $15 off $30 worth coupon from Groupon. Don't waste your time to go spend it in there. We did not know there are so many restrictions to use the coupon until we were ready to pay our bill. End up we CANNOT use it. We wasted 15 dollars to buy a useless coupon from Groupon. They don't tell you all the restrictions before you purchase the coupon. According to our waiter, we are not the first. They’ve dealt with the same issues with their customer in the past months and a lot of customers are not happy with it. I can’t believe the owner don’t do anything about it. POOR management and false coupon.
Pros: Good Service
Cons: outside seating

I was looking forward to trying this restaurant after buying the Groupon for $15 off $30 worth of food. We sat down and asked the waiter for a minute before deciding what to get. Little did we know our waiter would use that as an excuse to forget about us. I could see him going around to the other tables, but thanks to the large wooden furniture next to our table, it was hard to get his attention. The bartender happened to notice our displeasure, and took over. Our "waiter" came to take our order 10 minutes after the bartender did, and that was the last we heard from him.
The food was well prepared. I ordered the large chirashi, and it was fresh, presented nicely, and there was plenty of it. My only gripe is that it came in a wooden steamer, and the slats on the bottom made it somewhat hard to eat the rice. We were also pleased with the desserts -- I enjoyed the green tea ice cream, which lacked the usual bitterness of green tea.
Despite the good food and our attentive bartender-turned-water, the experience left a bitter taste in our mouths. It felt as if the $15 we saved with the Groupon was actually paid with our time. Thankfully there are plenty of other restaurants in Houston where I can get my sushi fix.
Pros: good quality food
Cons: painfully slow service

Since our dollars only stretch so far these days, I recommend skipping this place and taking advantage of how competitve the food market is in this town - we have so many good options and this isn't one of them!
I was excited to try this restuarant only to be disheartened by poor service. The sushi was ok but have enjoyed better sushi at many other places in town that offer a complete package of a relaxing, enjoyable evening. A few notable things that ruined the dining experience for me:
- the waiter was not attentive, though there were only about 5 other tables seated at the time. I had to get up and search him out after a long wait after initial contact. The service remained slow throughout the night.
- the wait-staff was ill-informed on beverage options and didn't even know what kind of specialty drinks the bar offered. We had to ask twice about drinks beyond beer and wine and the waiter seemed bothered by our inquiry. Isn't the bar how restaurants make money?
- the valet is not complimentary but it seems to be the only real option when you arrive. In fact, he asked me to give him $5 upon my arrival (thought that was awkward), then handed me my keys about 30 minutes later (he was leaving, it was a slow night). He left with my money.
- I called the manager to share my experience with him/her. They never called me back after I left a message with the hostess during a non-busy time at the restaurant.
Take your hard-earned money elsewhere for a better dining experience. I plan to.
Pros: decent ambiance
Cons: poor service that ruined dining experience, parking

Service was good, but the Sushi was way overpriced especially for the quality. I don't know who they are paying to write these reviews especially the one before mine. Location is bad and hard to get to. Nowhere really to park.
There are better Sushi Restaraunts out there, especially for the price.
Pros: Okay ambience
Cons: Overpriced, location, and value!

I have serve at many sushi places and have managed 3 sushi places. I would have to say that Zushi is well organized. The freshness in the sushi and sashimi was unbelievable tasty. I don?t know what other people are saying about it not being fresh. The rice grain and seaweed were grade AAA. The best of the best.. I have only worked at 2 restaurants with the same freshness & quality?.and oyeah I know the two sushi Chef?s there working there. they are excellent Chef and not just regular cooks. They are both head chef?s at places I used to manage. the specialty roll was unbelievable good. The waitress was cute and she gave us excellent service and suggestion on the specialty roll. I went there with my girlfriend this week for one of the most, if not the most, amazing dining experiences. I highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone!

I love sushi and trying new restaurants, so when we recently moved into the neighborhood thought it would be nice to try something local and support the area. I'm glad we did. The food is excellent, the service is superb and the atmosphere very surprising, from the outside it's difficult to imagine such a nice, hip look inside, nice bar and view of Memorial Drive. We have been there two times in the last two weeks, and I think it's going to be a weekly visit for us. Last week the chef came out and visited with a few of the guests and offered menu recommendations, this was after our waiter gave us detail by detail descriptions of the different sushi options and rolls, specially created and prepared by the chef. I give it a thumbs up.
Pros: Food, Service, Ambience
Cons: Parking, Value

My boyfriend and I went to Zushi, keeping in mind that it was a decked out, fancy, busy, place from what we saw on 002 magazine. Sad to say when we got there, it was empty and the hostess asked us if we were going anywhere nice since we were dressed up and in mind we were thinking yeah we thought we were...unfortunately pictures may be decieving. So we made up some lame excuse and ran out of there as fast as we could!
Pros: Service?
Cons: the atmosphere.

i've been to plenty of japanese restaurants in houston, and zushi is by far the best!!! the ingredients are fresh, the service is wonderful, and the specialty rolls are very flavorful and unique. i highly recommend puff the magic dragon roll and the jack william roll, but everything is fantastic. the atmosphere and decor is very modern and the music is great. it seems a bit on the upscale side, but you will not feel under dressed in jeans and a t-shirt....the staff is very friendly and mellow. we eat there about once a week, and we refuse to get sushi anywhere else. there is no comparison!!
Pros: everything is great!
Cons: hard to find

The previous 3 reviewers must have ownership interest and must be trying to promote this establishment. I NEVER write reviews but after my experience at Zushi I could not resist. I am sooo passionate about sushi, although my mama told me if I didn?t have anything nice to say?don?t say anything at all, it?s so hard to bite my tongue and say Zushi is the absolute WORST! The nice friendly staff doesn?t even make up for the foul taste of the food. The appearance of the salmon sashimi was questionable. After taking a whiff and realizing the grotesque fishy smell I should have stopped there?ick! The deadliest catch will indeed be the cause of your demise, the taste of something spoiled sent my stomach into an uproar! The safest item on the menu?edamame?but seriously it?s not rocket science to boil a bag of beans! Don?t even get me started on the restroom, situated right next to the kitchen, let?s just say fish market gone superbad!!!! If the food has sent you running to the restroom to toss your cookies, the stench of month old unrefrigerated fish in the restroom will seal the deal!! Someone please please cite this establishment for inconsumable Japanese fare and shut their doors for good! YUCK!!! I think I still have the putrid fish taste in my mouth?blech!
Pros: absolutely nothing...
Cons: everything!
