This locally owned restaurant has been a favorite in my native Houstonian family for over a decade. We always go there for special occasions (birthdays, graduation, etc.). Sure there are no reservations, so you have to wait, but they have a huge comfortable waiting area with a bar, popcorn to snack on, and plenty of TV's to watch, if you're not the type to converse with your party. The prices are high, but they would hardly be in business if they weren't, given the quality of the food and the entire experience.
Once you're seated, every experience that I've ever had was extremely positive. The service is fast and friendly, the salad bar is so amazing it is difficult to leave room for the delectable steak. Be sure to try the cinnamon-honey butter on your rolls. The filet mignon wrapped in bacon with garlic butter is to die for, always perfectly cooked, and NOTHING like Saltgrass or any other chain steakhouse, whose steaks are like hamburgers in comparison. Grilled balsamic portabella and steamed asparagus with hollandaise are my favorite sides, but all the sides are good.
They have the most amazing chocolate strawberries with romanoff sauce that I have ever tasted, but they are unfortunately seasonal and hard to catch. The cheesecake, 3-chocolate mousse cake, or fresh berries in a dark chocolate shell will always suffice in a pinch though. Long story short, I've been going there for years and will continue to go there for many more years, regardless of what any spoiled reviewers hem and haw about. Try it for yourself!

I have returned to Gallery Furniture at least five or six times and purchased a complete bedroom and living room set. The reason is quality furniture, affordable prices, exceptional service and "Mattress Mack's" work ethic which is reflected throughout the business. I also like the prompt delivery and setup service these people are tremendous..I will not go any where else for my furniture needs. Last of all Gallery Furniture does a load of charitable contributions throughout the Houston area. Mack gives back to the community in a BIG way! Way to go Gallery!

Whether or not Star Pizza itself calls this a "Montrose" location, it is not in Montrose. At least not the Montrose that most of us want to avoid when thinking about who is handling our pizzas. 59 and Shepherd is hardly "Montrose" so give it a rest already.

After two visits, I come to the same results about this cafe. The appearance is simple but the challenge is locating a parking spot. For example, my trip during the work week at lunchtime required a drive around the cafe until a parking spot became available and my weekend trip was easy as long don't drive a large vehicle. Once inside, you stand in the a line to place your order, pay your, receive your pager and then seat yourself. When your pager goes off, you go pickup your order and enjoy.
The food was excellent, for it meet my expectation of what Greek food taste like, and the price was idea. I recommend the Greek plate called Hercules or the Gyro plate.

While the Duck is a great music venue, don't overlook their Saturday morning breakfast/lunch. We went last weekend and watched the OU vs UT game (who knew they opened at 11am on Sat) . The outside patio has been redone and there is now a covered area with 2 TVs. It is a great spot to sit outside, have breakfast (their pancakes rock!), watch some college football, all the while sipping on mimosas (or wine, or beer, or coffee :)
We will definitely be back!!!

My folks took me here for my birthday after a friend of mine recommended this place to me a billion times. I love steak and found the steak to be on the good side. The potatoes, which were also mentioned were okay. but aside from those two things, the rest of the meal.....WOW. The salad, steak sauce and especially the rasberry bread pudding were without a doubt the best i've ever had. The steak sauce was so good, that i practically smothered my steak in it (we even purchased a bottle for home) the bread pudding was so good, i was licking my fingers after i was done it was so tasty. couple that with some of the best service i've had at a restaurant, and you have a place that will be seeing us again.
Pros: Service, Food, Steak Sauce
