Good: The cleaners were nice people. I hired GH for detailed cleaning: 16 hours of labor at a cost of $440.00. This included all dusting, blinds, baseboards. My entire home was clutter-free so they could work without delay. After 16 hours they were still only 50% finished. I was stuck paying more hours for someone to come back the next day. She was late, did not even do 25% of what was left from the day before. One cleaner had no experience and her work had to be redone. She brought no supplies.. Bad: Disorganized! No clear system for cleaning. Three random cleaners arrived late and did not communicate or devise a plan. Each just cleaned where they wanted. One person spent 45 minutes on a silk plant (until I took it outside and hosed it down- otherwise 2 hours would have been wasted) Towards the end of the day the kitchen, family room, master bedroom, were still untouched. I was stressed the whole time as I could see the job would not be completed. I was stuck paying for them to come back again.. Improvements: A plan for cleaning! Read Don Aslett's book speed cleaning and teach your employees how to clean professionally. These were nice ladies but no different from anyone regarding cleaning skills. Also, they should bid jobs on the price of the job and not by the hour. If the cleaners get distracted, talk on cell phones, visit with each other, or do tasks that were not on the list (silk plants, for example) it should not cost the homeowner.. Other: If you have a short, easy job and don't really care about speed or efficiency, GH might be OK. I had a big dusting job, but I knew it, told them ahead of time, and was willing to pay. All the clutter was gone, it was just surfaces. Three cleaners could have done it in 6 hours easily. That they billed me 20 hours and still did not complete it or even get to the master or family room in my normal, clutter-free home is ridiculous. Just a train wreck..
