My family and I have been going to Dr Maxson for nearly 30 years. You can not build a better relationship with a vet then with Dr Maxson. I moved from Alief to NW houston and no matter how far the drive I will continue to go to Dr Maxson. No other vet will mourn with you when your pet dies, you never feel like a number at this Vet.
Pros: Personal, Caring, nice,
Cons: Location has become "unsafe"

I haven't been to Dr. Maxson's clinic for over 9 years but I still have warm fuzzies for his treatment of my cats!
I just got through sending an email to a friend telling her how great this vet is. His staff was great-very friendly, the clinic was clean and appealing.
I used to live in Dayton, TX and I'd drive all the way to SW Houston to have my cats treated. I'd would definitely refer him to anyone that wants a good vet!
Pros: Great vet, staff and prices. Good parking
Cons: Neighborhood isn't as nice as it used to be. :-( And Beechnut traffic can be very heavy at times.

I went to many vets in Alief and beyond for 2 years and COULD NOT find one that was very knowledgeable or kind. Referred to specialty clinic that charged $500 the 1st visit! The pymt plan was "pay now or we keep your dog & charge boarding fees". First concern-ability to pay at visit. In 1994, I asked a groomer if she knew a good vet that was very caring. Without hesitation she recommended Dr. Maxson. He treated my sickly girl for the next 10 years and was so very kind and loving to her. He always showed consideration for us too; offering treatment options, realizing that one's inability to pay for expensive treatment in no way diminished one's love for their pet. Husband & I were devastated when Helen was diagnosed with a fast growing cancer; she died in my arms 4 weeks later. We called Dr. Maxson, Jan said bring her in. In the exam room, both of us crying, our girl wrapped in her blanket, Janice gently took her from me & began to clean her face and body. Husband asked Janice for scissors (no explanation). She returned with scissors, brush, a twist tie, and envelope, then left us alone for the next hour. Our dog was a schnauzer/poodle mix, runt of the litter that grew to 38 lbs. & looked like an English sheepdog. In 12 1/2 years, I never cut any hair on her head. Husband brushed her hair up, tied w/ twist tie, & tearfully, we cut a 4" lock of her hair. The grief that engulfed us extended to family & friends; everyone loved Helen. We were so touched when we rec?d. a sympathy card from Dr. Maxson & staff. This vet truly understands that pets are FAMILY MEMBERS & respects them as such when in his care. Office & exam rooms have always been spotless & odor free. Dr. Maxson is extremely knowledgeable & enthusiastically spends as much time as needed. Staff has always been wonderful about giving short-notice appts. 3 Yrs. ago we got 2 VERY rowdy puppies; so brother went to new home in Magnolia. My Great Friend! was so impressed with Dr. Maxson that she still uses his clinic
Pros: CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN, VERY REASONABLE, EXCEPTIONAL DOCTOR WITH EXCEPTIONAL STAFF
Cons: NOT ONE

I have had a Labrador that recently had to be put down, and Dr. Maxson and his loving staff were extremely caring and understanding. Sometimes your down on your luck with money and Dr. Maxson and staff were always so flexible about payment options. We have 5 cats now and Dr. Maxsons office has always been loving and very caring towards our animals. They treat our animals like they are part of their very own family. His office is always spotless and staff always friendly. I would HIGHLY recommend his services to anyone. They say you get what you pay for, but for Dr. Maxson, you get way more than just that. 7-8 years of going to Dr. Maxson, and still won't go anywhere else.
Pros: Loving, Caring, Friendly, Generous, Honest, Hardworking, Go Above and Beyond
Cons: None

Dr. Max is the best. I have used him for about 7 years now. He is always caring and devoted to animals. He also understands the practicle, money, aspect of pets, too. He has always treated my cat and dog with love and kindness. All of my friends go to Dr. Max based on my recommendation.
I would highly recommend him as not only the most caring of vets, but also the most economical vets in the Houston area.
Two thumbs up from me!

I like how Beechcrest Animal Clinic is cheaper than other places. It only costs $5 to cut my dogs nails while at PetsMart, it cost $8.
I like how they are also trying to save their patients money. They said that my dog didn't need to have his under paw shaved because he has short hair and I would waste money to get it shaved.

Dr. Maxson and the staff at Beechcrest Animal Clinic are wonderful! I have been taking my pets there for years, and recommend him to anyone looking for a veterinarian.
The staff at Beechcrest has a wonderful easy manner with creatures of all kinds, and understand how difficult it can be to deal with a sick animal. Their kindness and consideration are particularly comforting in the cases where an animal needs to be put to sleep, or passes away naturally.
Their service is friendly and effecient, and their prices are lower than those advertised at chain-store vet clinics such as those found at Petsmart. They will also match prices for medications offered at discount places like 1-800-PetMeds, saving you money and time.
Dr. Maxson remembers each of his patients, and compliments them when things are improving are going well. It's an encouraging environment, and one in which the owner's concerns are addressed as well as any health problems found in the examination.
I consider Dr. Maxson to be part of our family, and recommend his services to anyone looking for a veterinarian.
