Today after a trip to the zoo, I took my kids on the Hermann Park train. This is an inexpensive treat ($2.25 per person) that is a wonderful way to end a trip to the zoo or other Hermann Park attraction. It is a child-sized train, but adults can squeeze into the small bench seats. The train goes throughout the park, passing lakes, fountains, statues, the Museum of Natural Science and Main Street. You might even see one of the Metro trains going along the street while your on the miniature train. My kids love this fun ride, especially waving to other park-goers and looking at squirrels. With a breeze blowing as you ride along, this train is pleasant even on hot days.

I loved this train as a kid and my kids love it now. We usually ride after a fun day at the zoo or after watching a show at miller out door theater. I think the price is a little more than $2, but I'm not sure. the train takes you around the park and back. There is usually not a long wait.

I went here just to take my kids. Its about a one minute walk from the Houston Zoo. The train takes you all around Herman Park and back. It's nice to go on a relaxing day. My kids loved it. The admission fee is cheap! And outside the Train they sell lots of inflatable animals you can buy.

The Herman Park Train in Houston is located right next to the Houston Zoo. The train costs only $2.25 a ticket to ride, and the ride takes you around Herman Park, and the large lake in the middle. The train has been around a long time, and it is so relaxing to watch the people in the park and the paddle boats on the lake. Great experience for all ages-right at the Houston Zoo!
