Memorial Park is the place to go when you want to try to lose some pounds. A jogging trail loops around the park and is about three miles in circumference. This is a very popular park and is a decent location for people watching. It’s not uncommon to run into people you know and that can give you that small town feeling that is hard to come by in such a big city. The park is wooded and beautiful and has areas for picnicking and sports. There’s something for everyone.

The scenery is wonderful and the atmosphere is quiet in this park. Their is a huge track/sidewalk that you can walk, run, jog, or even ride your bike on. If you want a good work-out out in the Houston air, go to Memorial and walk amongst the trees and the woods.
I have never seen anyone not exercising in this park. They also have a security force that will ride around and check out anything suspicious.

Memorial Park possesses a glorious expanse of wild flora and fauna and a two-mile stretch of one of the city's rare natural streams. South of the park, you'll find a number of athletic facilities, including three little league and regulation baseball diamonds, football and soccer fields and bocce ball courts. Further south, the nation's largest metropolitan zoo houses 6,000 animals.

Memorial Park is one of the best urban parks I have ever been to. Their is so much to do in the park. It is a runner's mecca. So many runners flock to the park to run the three mile crushed granite running trail. It is a great place to see people and get some exercise. The golf course is also great, but is so popular that it is difficult to get a tee time.
