We were stuck in Houma, LA on saturday waiting for our daughter to be finished at a baby shower, coming all the way home would have been a wasted time and gas.
So very glad that I wandered into Target as my choice for wasting time while waiting, time didn't go to waste. Inside of Target, discounted they had these silk bedsheets, olive green in color, perfect for the guest bedroom. They were a little more expensive than the regular cotton sheets I usually put into there, but I paid the price anyways, I think it was 22.90 for the set.While there I also picked up on a couple of cute picture frames that were discounted to two bucks each. Then I went down the other isle, my teeth almost fell out at this price not only did I get all the above mentioned items, but i got as well as a lamp for the guest room, get this 3 bucks and it had a shade. Oh I so love Target, so go before all the good stuff is gone.

The food at Samurai Dragon is great. I love the interior of this restaurant. It is a great place to go on a date. Very cozy and inviting. Also, if you are with a group of people, don’t miss sitting at a table with a Hibachi Chef. They will cook up stuff for you right in front of you and are very skilled at cooking and entertaining with their knife skills!

Academy has great shoe selection and in the weekly sales paper there is a section of shoes on sale. I have found several great pairs of shoes at Academy. In fact, I picked up my youngest daughter 2 pairs of Adidas at Christmas last year, for ten bucks a pair. This is even cheaper than walmart.
My husband and son go to Academy for rubber boots and hunting boots as well, a wide selection at the most affordable prices around.
When I needed steel toe boots for work, I searched all over town, from Wal-mart all the way to the boot shops where prices go into the hundreds. Finally I had the bright idea of Academy. There was about 10 pairs of boots there for woman, prices starting at 20 bucks. I did buy my work boots at Academy, 4 months ago and have been very pleased.

They have some great clothes, for men of all sizes, and will tailor your clothes if you want to moderate them when you buy. They are really courteous and easygoing guys there that will strike up a conversation and make you feel right at home. They have a great selection and it makes you wish you had thousands of dollars to spend on clothes. They are on the expensive side, but the quality of products they have are unrivaled in Houma in my opinion. I'm so glad they moved out of the mall though, I hated the store they had there. Their new store (well it's been there 6 years) is much cleaner, nicer and bigger. If you wanna shop somewheres where the salesmen are friendly and they have good quality clothes, take a trip to Saadi's.

Six Star is a great place to shop they have a lot of hard to find stuff... My request is for six star to carrie more ducks of different kinds... Teals Blue and green wings male and females, Pintails males and females, Greyduck male and females, coots male and female, wood duck male and females. Just more of a selection of ducks and geese.

I have had parties at the bowling alley several years in a row now for my birthday, yes I am 18, but I don't care. I don't go into bars, yet we want to get together with my friends. The bowling alley is a cheap place to spend time with my friends.
For a child's birthday party, they offer cosmic bowling (it's offered other times as well). At Creole Lanes each party is scheduled for 2 hours on the weekend, it can be at 1-3 on saturday or 3-5 on sunday.
Creole Lanes offers 44 lanes, so you can never have too many people attending the party and the lanes have automatic bumpers for those new to bowling, or like me with no bowling talents.
They open at 10 AM daily and are located on Tunnel Blvd right across from the mirrored Whitney Bank building.

I have never been disappointed at Mermaid’s Masquerade. If you want to dress up as something for Halloween, you name it and they have it either for rental or purchase. They also have a great deal of accessories for purchase like masks, makeup and other props. Their selection can’t be beat, and the prices are great! The owner makes some of the costumes herself, and they are very elaborate. Also, they are open year-round.

This is Houma's premier jeweler. The products that are contained in this jewelery boutique are unique and high quality. This is also the only place in Houma where you can purchase Rolex goods. I have bought several peices including my fiance's engagement ring from this store and have been treated like a king each and everytime I have been there. Its welll worth it!

I'm typically not a big fan of buffets, and I've had just enough authentic Chinese food that many of the overly Americanized restaurants turn me off, but Golden Dragon does an excellent job for what they are. I don't go away feeling like I've been pumped full of MSG, the food is tasty and varied even with the non-chinese additions to the buffet, and the family that runs it seems quite nice.
I haven't been to any of Houma's other Chinese restaurants, so I can't really make a comparative judgement here, but I've not had a bad experience here yet, even if this is the first Chinese restaurant I've been to that serves boiled crawfish.

She is a very pleasant woman and will talk to you like you are a human being, and will evaluate your skills, and find a suitable backet of employment placement she has for you. She will call you with updates very often and will explain every job opportunity she has for you in detail. She will also give you the choie of rather taking it or leaving it at your discretion and doesn't try to sway you either way. Once you have been working through her temp agency long enough, you'll realize what a kind and caring woman she is, along with a great business sense to place employees in occupations that are seemingly made for them. KC Staffing is a great place to temp from!
