My kids love to go to the movies, but with three kids, the big cinema down the road is out of the question. We always go to the Southland cinema where the admission is under 2 bucks and the kids can get popcorn, candy and a soda for a good price. The drawbacks is that the place is usually pretty unkept in that the bathrooms were rather dirty last time we went and trash was all over the chairs. If one can look beyond apprearances and are out for the best deal for the money I highly recommend this place.

The best thing I can say about Southland Cinema is that they are very inexpensive-Just $1.99 for admission! It is a good place to go if you missed the first run of a movie-they usually have movies that are 3-5 months old. Well, you get what you pay for. The floor was very sticky-to the point where my feet actually stuck to the floor! The snacks are still a little expensive, too.

Southland Cinema is a pretty good place to go see a movie if you are on a budget. So what if they are a few months older than the ones at the palace, you just can't beat $1.98 for a movie! And their concessions are relatively inexpensive too, compared to the Palace. This cinema is located inside of southland mall. if you have lived in houma for a long time, you'll know that is used to be a regular cinema, then shut down for a few years, and re-opened this year as a dollarplex. It's a great bargain, although you may have to put up with a dirty ambiance as they don't seem to clean the cinemas that often, but the price still makes it totally worth the mess.
