When I do decide to hit the Palace I can't say it's all that bad. The concessions folks etc. are generally friendly, and I've yet to stick to the floor. The prices are high but that's typical of first run theaters in the US, so it's hard to single out the Palace for that. Why the disappointment? Consistently, the movies I actually want to watch never hit this theater, and the real snoozers get the screens. I can understand skipping the art house flicks, but this summer's selections really had me scratching my head. And, resorting to other city's theaters or waiting for DVDs for half a dozen of this summer's movies.

Houma's only cinniplex with new motion pictures is a total ripoff, like most other movie theatures. I hate that fact that if you want to adequately have a ticket, and a drink and a medium popcorn, you'll be looking at at least $20 each during the daytime. For that price you think they could keep the place clean, but no, it is filthy and needs attention. Not to mention the rude, pretentious staff. Do yourself a favor and just wait a few months for the movies to come out at the dollarplex in the mall.

The Palace Theater in Houma is a great place to catch a movie. The theater is clean and the screens are clear. There are always many movies playing and the employees are very nice. The concessions are not cheap, but definitely not the most expensive out there. For a great time, go to the Palace.
