We were stuck in Houma, LA on saturday waiting for our daughter to be finished at a baby shower, coming all the way home would have been a wasted time and gas.
So very glad that I wandered into Target as my choice for wasting time while waiting, time didn't go to waste. Inside of Target, discounted they had these silk bedsheets, olive green in color, perfect for the guest bedroom. They were a little more expensive than the regular cotton sheets I usually put into there, but I paid the price anyways, I think it was 22.90 for the set.While there I also picked up on a couple of cute picture frames that were discounted to two bucks each. Then I went down the other isle, my teeth almost fell out at this price not only did I get all the above mentioned items, but i got as well as a lamp for the guest room, get this 3 bucks and it had a shade. Oh I so love Target, so go before all the good stuff is gone.

Hancock's is not the fabric store of the past, it's the fabric store of the future. They sell fabric as always, but i guess ten years ago they added home furnishings as well as home decor to the list of items they sell.
Hancock's in Houma has a great line, quite extensive of home decor and funishings, nothing I could ever afford, but they are there all the same. They also carry, I am guessing here, about 100 different patterns of tapestry material to cover that old sofa or chair, one of the reasons I went into there....my dh wants me to cover an old chair with LSU tiger prints. Hancock's is the only place in Houma who carries such, so this was the only logically place to go.
Then what I got at Hancock's was fleece material to make a throw for the guest room in my dd school colors. I also picked up a couple of yards of material to make my son's curtains for his room, something I had been putting off. Of course, I never get the darn discount coupons at Hancock's because I do go in at all the wrong times, but I think it's the 22nd of October for a 40% coupon off of any fabric item.

what is with these places with their low quality stuff. True the prices are pretty low but the quality is just as low. You will get what you pay for. This shop is done in the where house style where items are matched together in little bedroom/livingroom/dining room sets. They have a few appliances and some decorative items but mostly low quality furinitre. and lots of it.

I swear this place looks like a rent to own wherehouse, but everyone has different taste. The staff was super friendly and they did not stalk you like other stores, the selection was wide. But it basicall was all a cheap style. They composed rooms together (all that matched main peices) but many of the items were made with particfle board and other cheap materials. Not a place I would recomend to my friends trying to furnish their house, dorm yeah... house no.
