My husband and I chose to eat at the Chart House for one of our nice evenings out. We were seated at a nice, quaint table right on the edge of the dining room at an open window overlooking the marina. Our server was one of the top 5 waiters I've ever had and the food was delicious. I had a wonderful Live Main Lobster with delicious sides. I am quite a picky person when it comes to restaurants and I would definitely recommed the Chart House.
Pros: Food, Window seat view, Service
Cons: , Parking

Give yourself a treat and dine at Neptune's Garden. This restaurant is for those who want a fine dining experience and not an eat and go meal. It's fine dining but there isn't any snootiness here. We went on a Thursday night and got to hear Benny Chong and Byron Yasui play. These guys were great and very approachable. I ordered the Steak Diane and it was sublime!!! It was a bit pricey but we used a coupon from one of those tourist publications and got 50% off our second entree. The staff didn't make you feel "cheap" for using it, in fact they asked us if we had one. I definitely recommend this place for a relaxed and delicious meal.
Pros: Delicious food, great music, great service, coupon available.
Cons: In Waikiki

We took dear friends to Nick's to celebrate their 40th anniversary. The evening was simply delightful. I was like dinning in New York with leather chairs and booths, red carpet and excellent service. Our meals were served "just right" and we had some specific requests. I had the sea bass special which was prepared with a tomato base salsa that perfectly complimented the generous portion of fish. The lamb and steaks were excellent as well. When the bill came, I found that the prices were not high for Honolulu, but one has to keep in mind that Honolulu restaurants are a bit higher than Southern California where we come from. I highly recommend Nick's for dinner.
Pros: service, food, atmosphere
Cons: moderately high price

The most beautiful place. Sit outside and enjoy the Ocean View while you eat your mahi-mahi and your Shrimp. If you have saved some room, order dessert! Don't over look the Bucket-O-Trash -It is delectable and yummie. Tamara Shrimp and a menu that even caters to people that want something else other than seafood. Bring the family, cause there are toys out front near the fountain and a friendly atmosphere for all to enjoy. -Keep an eye out for the Celebrities, but try not to bother them.

Hula Grill was a very nice and romantic restaurant. The food was fabulous and we talked about it for days after. I had the special (Ribeye) and my girfriend had some sort of chicken dish. It was pricey but when on vacation, I tend to splurge. The service was excellent and the ambience even better. I plan on going back the next time I visit Hawaii. I love it there! Jeannie D. is right on the money with her review. I dropped in with a party of eight, sat at a big lazy susan table, and enjoyed some of the best Chinese food I've had in years. The staff is chatty with customers, and so very, very friendly. Ate like a king for under $10 per person.
Pros: Marvelous food, local ambience
Cons: Maybe better parking?

Cabanas is a great restaurant for dates and small get togethers. (Seating allows up to 6-7 people max.) Sitting right up on the beach creates a beautiful setting, especially on a night with a full moon. The sound of the ocean while dining on one of the SHAREABLE fresh daily fish, pulehu beef, slow roast pork, or any of the other fine dishes, is relaxing and serene. Don't dine here if you want a quick bite, the setting usually creates sit times of about 1 1/2 - 2 hours. Seating time is open from 5:30-8:45. Reservations are HIGHLY recommended because of the restaurant's small sitting capacity. Bring a jacket, a date, and an appetite. Avg. price per person... $40 - $50.
Pros: Ambieance, food, romantic
Cons: , dependant on weather

Sunday brunch is a blend of east/west and hot/cold foods. Great place for special occasions or to impress out of town guests. If you want to impress people, ask for an ocean view table.
Pricey but I've been to more expensive places that fell far short of Halekulani's Orchids.
Come hungry, leave full.
Pros: Ocean View

The Hanohano Room at the Sheraton Waikiki offers a fabulous view of Honolulu and the beach. Big booths all face out toward tall windows and tables are much closer to the glass. The service is friendly and the food is wonderful! They also offer the desserts bananas foster and cherry jubilee made tableside. Yumm! On the night we went there was entertainment which I understand is on "Hawaiian time" which means not necessarily on-time so don't plan your dinner reservation around it. The music is not too loud so you can still carry a conversation. There is a nice sized bar with all the seats facing out the windows facing Diamond Head. So enjoy the food, the music and definitely the view!
