Recently stayed in Oahu and found this place to be the bearer of the grandest Mai Tais.
Located in the rear of the one of the swankiest hotels in all of Oahu (Halekulani).
For the most part most of the restaurants have the same layout there on the beach, however H w/o K has the best delivery of all!
Every night at sunset they offer live music out under a century-old Kiawe tree overlooking the ocean with service which cannot be beat.
The now $8 Mai-Tais seem like a bargain.
Get there early.. It fills up fast!

We had breakfast here while on vacation (got a 2-pancake, bacon, and egg special for 2.99). I was thrilled to see 'chilled papaya' listed on the menu! The pancakes were to die for - don't know why, they just tasted FANTASTIC. We got a table right next to the rail, in the fresh air, great for people-watching at 7am! The service was fast and reliable, and the lunch and dinner menu seemed really good (especially for those who like Thai or asian flair). I saw the place crowd up really fast in the afternoon.

Our family enjoyed a wonderful breakfast while dining in the remarkable setting of this restuarant. We had a reservation for breakfast that we were almost late for by half an hour due to traffic. The host was very understanding and when he realized how far we had come he asked us if we would like to wait a few more minutes for a beach side table.... which we did. The breakfast was wonderful. Great pancakes with coconut syrup that the kids enjoyed and the best eggs benadict that I have ever had. Although the traditional eggs benedict is offered I opted for the poached salmon on a cheddar dill scone version instead. It was heaven. My husband had a seafood omlet that he also enjoyed. It took us a bit to get our check at the end of the meal, but nothing that I would have let alter a great breakfast experience. I would highly recommend this restuarant, for the food, as well as the view.

This has to be the best Cantonese / Hong Kong style restaurant in town. I have tried numerous Chinese restaurants during my annual visits, and I found this restaurant's food quality to be consistently good and of best value. Make sure you try their lobsters! They are *always* on sale and they taste good! Also try their drunken clams. If you like to challenge yourself, try their Deep Fried Large Intestine. Excellent value and quality! Make sure you arrive early for prompt seating.
Pros: Value, Consistency, Food quality
Cons: Long wait time, Few large tables

Simply stated....the brunch is awesome! The ambience is Breathtaking and the service is Impeccable.
I am a waffle lover therefore, when I attend this brunch, my first course is ALWAYS the waffles with peaches, whipped cream and macademia nuts.
The spread is diverse with local cuisine and continental samplings. Whatever your longing maybe...I am sure this brunch will satisfy it!The desserts are marvelous!
Highly recommend this as a special occasion or just because location!

Although I did not stay at the Sheraton Moana Surfrider, we did stop in there. This is a very elegant well appointed hotel and considering it opened in 1901, the premises would never indicate it was over 100 years. There is free entertainment on the beach side of the hotel and every Saturday night, couples are invited to renew their wedding vows at a beachside ceremony, given leis and certificates all at no charge whether you are a hotel guest or not. This would be my next choice for a hotel to stay with at my next visit to Waikiki
PROS: Beautiful, romantic, well appointed
CONS: None

Give yourself a treat and dine at Neptune's Garden. This restaurant is for those who want a fine dining experience and not an eat and go meal. It's fine dining but there isn't any snootiness here. We went on a Thursday night and got to hear Benny Chong and Byron Yasui play. These guys were great and very approachable. I ordered the Steak Diane and it was sublime!!! It was a bit pricey but we used a coupon from one of those tourist publications and got 50% off our second entree. The staff didn't make you feel "cheap" for using it, in fact they asked us if we had one. I definitely recommend this place for a relaxed and delicious meal.
Pros: Delicious food, great music, great service, coupon available.
Cons: In Waikiki

We took dear friends to Nick's to celebrate their 40th anniversary. The evening was simply delightful. I was like dinning in New York with leather chairs and booths, red carpet and excellent service. Our meals were served "just right" and we had some specific requests. I had the sea bass special which was prepared with a tomato base salsa that perfectly complimented the generous portion of fish. The lamb and steaks were excellent as well. When the bill came, I found that the prices were not high for Honolulu, but one has to keep in mind that Honolulu restaurants are a bit higher than Southern California where we come from. I highly recommend Nick's for dinner.
Pros: service, food, atmosphere
Cons: moderately high price
