We made a reservation a week in advance for last Saturday evening at 7:30pm. We requested a table in the outdoor/garden area for a more romantic seat. We arrived an hour early for our reservation, hungry from hiking and snorkeling all day, and told the young male host that we had a reservation for 7:30pm but would like to get seated earlier if we could. He sat us in the main dining room. We knew we were early so we didn't push for our original outdoor table request, but the table he chose to seat us at in the nearly empty dining room (only 3 other tables were occupied) was the only one facing a pillar. We thought it was an odd choice for a table, especially with so many others open and since we did make a reservation but we're not the type to cause a stink and decided to make the most of our night regardless. We ordered 2 appetizers, blackened ahi summer rolls, and another ahi dish - fried on the outside but raw in the middle, I'm not sure of the name - both appetizers were as bland as bland could be. Our waiter was nice but slow on the service - he didn't even clear our first course plates until he came out with our entrees... perhaps he was new? For dinner we ordered Pad Thai with Seafood and one of the Chef's Signature dishes - the Jumbo Prawns... again both were tasteless. I've never had such bland Thai food in my life! I lived in NYC for 9 years and frequented many Thai restaurants and we now live in LA and eat Thai food a couple times a month. We love it for it's flavor, not just the spice, but the seasoning... this was terrible. We couldn't even finish our meal and it cost us $100 for the two of us to eat and a glass of wine each! I've never written one of these reviews. I've always felt funny about it since everyone experiences things differently, but after this dining experience ... I felt it was my duty to put my opinion out there. Take it for what you will.
Pros: walking distance to several hotels
Cons: FOOD, service, too expensive for the value

I went to Singha for the first time two years ago and had a wonderful experience. Great food, atmosphere etc. I'd had the duck curry and how succulent it was! Not greasy but just delicious. I was so impressed that I raved about it to all my friends and when my husband and I went to Oahu 8/30/06 it was on the list of places to go. We made 8p reservations for a Sat. night and when we showed up the place was so dead that the hostess seated us immediately. We didn't even have to mention our reservations. We sat inside and there were about 4 other tables that were seated. About two tables were occupied outside. I saw 3 waiters the whole time we were there. As we looked over our menus and was served water, (not by our server), a dancer came out and performed. After staring at our menus for about 7 minutes we started looking around for our waiter. The three of them just walked on by. Finally I got up and found the hostess. She claimed our waiter was very "busy" and would be right over. Busy with what tables, I thought. He came over about 3 minutes later and by that time we were getting up to leave. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Would NOT recommend this place. It has really gone downhill. What a shame.
Pros: food, dancers, atmosphere
Cons: SERVICE WAS SO UNPROFESSIONAL!!

Singha Thai Cuisine is one of the famous Thai restaurant in Honolulu. it's across from Hilton Hawaiian Village and next to Todai restaurant.
I would say the taste of Thai foods at the restaurant is pretty similar from what you can get in Thailand. (
the reason i said this because some Thai restaurants cooks their foods different taste from the original taste that it should be... )
(actually, I'm born and raise in Thailand.. So, I know how the food taste like)
The restaurant also provides Thai dance show on Friday and weekend. (around 6 pm .. I think)
The decoration of the plate and how the food set up on the plate are nice.
Great place for both tourists and locals.
However, the price is a bit pricey, but worth to pay .
Overall, I would recommend you guys to try Thai foods at Singha Thai Cuisine.
Enjoy :)

My favorite Thai restaurant in Honolulu, and there are a lot, is Singha Thai near the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki. The restaurant is indoors with a outdoor patio and all decorated with Thai statues & many orchids. The food is top notch. The same chef opened a restaurant in Aloha Tower Marketplace called Chai's & the food there is also good. I really like to take out of town guests to Singha because they have Thai dancers that come & perform in traditional dresses. They are classy, not like belly dancing tacky stuff- kids love it too. They perform the unique movements & it really makes the evening complete. The many flowers & layout of the restaurant make it a good place for couples also. I love their Summer Rolls.
