Favorite local restaurant, everyone loves coming here as it reminds them of the good old days of their youth. I used to come as a kid and still sneak back to 'hang out' with my girlfriends. My guilty delight is an order of spaghetti w/ meat sauce and garlic bread. Heavy on the arteries and stomach, but big on memories. An acquired island taste.

Zippy's is a place our family goes when we are looking for comfort food. The we like the one on Young Street. The waitress/waiters are friendly and attentive. I think they have really good corned beef hash there. I am also a fan of their wun tun min. My husband loves their chicken teriyaki and our son their loco moco. We have seen the prices rise in recent years and maybe the portion diminish a bit but I guess the cost of living is affecting everyone, even the restaurants. Still a good place to go.

It's very convenience for me to grab lunch and dinner from Zippy's in downtown. They're open 24hrs, everyday. so, if you and your friends are hungry after late night party. Zippy's is the place to go!
There are many kinds of local foods to choose from such as SPAM musubi, Chilli, fried chicken, BBQ Beef, BBQ chicken, Kailua Pork, and so on...
In addition, they keep update thier menus or create some new menus periodically.
Food's price is moderate. some are pricey.
Ohh.. they also have good bakery as well...

If it weren't for Zippy's I'd of died of starvation a long time ago. The chili is what they are famous for, and the Zip Pac's (deep fried fish, fried chicken, spam, BBQ beef on a bed of rice with furikake) are great. They have occassional specials that are okay, like the oxtail stew. The mainland visitor may balk at the spam, but the locals love it!

They also continue to create new dishes that keep things interesting there. Their new dishes like Korean Style Chicken and their new Nachos are superb.
