Authentic Japanese ramen noodle shop. They serve everything from ramen to gyoza to fried rice. For those not in the mood for ramen or fried rice, they also have tempura and donbori dishes. The quality is good, prices reasonable and just a short walk to the corner of Beretania and Smith streets.

Most of my normal food stops in downtown are take-out-only, which is perfect for those of us looking for a quick meal to take back to the office. On the rare occasion that I take the time for a sit-down meal, the food has to be worth it.
Yusura is one of these rare gems. Although they do take-out, it's best to take the time to sit and be served. Service is fast and done with a smile. Refills of water and green tea throughout the meal are done without asking.
My favorite is the ramen combo for $6.50. It is a three-course meal consisting of a bowl of ramen, four pieces of gyoza, and a hearty serving of fried rice. There are also daily specials for each day of the week, such as a chicken katsu curry or unagi ramen.

I find it funny that this Japanese restaurant is owned and run by Chinese folks, but I'm sure it's not uncommon. They do make a mean fried rice. But everything I've had here is pretty good--I like the unagi don, the ramen and gyoza. Parking isn't the most convenient, but I live right across the street, so it's super convenient for me. It looks clean, which is always a plus. But the best part is the very reasonable prices. Enjoy!

Yusura Japanese Restaurant is another good place for dining in or taking out. The foods here are not only tasty, but the prices of the food also are reasonable. The menu that I would recommend is combination or mixed plate, which you can choose two choices (new cook and around $11 or $12) with Miso soup and salad. My best choices would be mixed tempura and shrimp tempura.
