The three star restaurant is a decent take out place in downtown Honolulu where you can get decent burgers and salads for lunch. Ingredients are fresh and flavorful. My favorite dish is the Cajun Shrimp salad, which comes with your choice of dressing. This salad is just under $5, and comes with 4 medium-small shrimps. The restaurant would rate more stars if the shrimps were larger, and I’d be willing to pay more for it also.

It's rare that restaurant undersells itself in something as simple as its name. I'm sure the "three stars" referenced in 3 Star Gourmet Restaurant's name has some significance other than alluding to the ubiquitous 5-star rating system. 3 Star is located in the Education America building on Bishop Street in downtown Honolulu. The menu consists of salads, sandwiches, and a selection of entrees with a bias towards seafood, most ranging from $5 to $8. Major credit cards are accepted. The kitchen is in plain view behind the counter, so you can watch the chefs stepping over each other at times in the tiny kitchen. My favorites are the homemade-style cheeseburger, which is served with french fries, and the Cajun shrimp salad with either balsamic or oriental dressing.
