Darrell is a GREAT doctor. Liz is a GREAT nurse. My kids LOVE them.
I HATE the new nurse. She is so rude and she is harsh with the kids and has a terrible way of handling them. I never want to go on a day that she is working. I don't want to even call if she is there.
Barbara (the receptionist) isn't great, but I don't mind going or calling the office if Darrell and Liz are there.
Darrell, if you read this, please take to heart what everyone is saying about your staff because we love you as our doctor. You are worth it to send our kids there, but your new nurse makes it horrible for the kids and us-parents.

Dr. Natori is great! I really liked Liz! But the receptionist(s) are horrible. I scheduled an appointment for my daughter's sports physical for school and was given an appointment date months down the line. When it got closer to the date I called to confirm and they did not have her scheduled anywhere and there next available time wasn't until aother few months! What a big disappointment. I had to take her to the Medical Corner!

Good: I like Dr. Natori very much. Have been taking my children there since birth and now they are in their teens. He is always upbeat and informative. Liz the nurse is great! Always very friendly.. Bad: I do not like the receptionist! She is very BLAH! I dread calling to schedule an appointment or ask a question because it seems like she doesn't want to be bothered. She doesn't acknowledge you even if you're standing at the window right infront of her. Then she'll look up without saying a word with a "what do you want look on her face"...SO RUDE! It's shame that she brings the office down.. Improvements: Teaching the receptionist some Personal Relations and Customer Service perhaps.. Other: Would have rated 5 stars but the receptionist prevented me from doing it =(.

Dr. Natori has been a great doctor to my daughter since she was born!!! No complaints about him at all. But I gotta say that the staff is real terrible now. Ever since Liz left, it seems like the office is falling apart!!! The reception girls have forgotten to call in prescriptions for me twice and rescheduled my appointment wrong recently and blamed me for the problem! What makes it worse, is that they are so rude!!! Dr. Natori can find way better staff than this - or he may lose patients!

Good: Dr. Darrell, or "uncle" Darrell, as he calls himself to the kids, is awesome! He never rushes us when we have questions or concerns and he seems to truly care about the health of our son. I would recommend him to anyone who has kids. We've almost never had to wait longer than 5 minutes to get in to see him and yet when we're with him, he talks story and really takes the time to examine our son. I don't know how he does it!. Bad: Just one thing - the receptionist, Barbara. She's so unpleasant for someone who's on the "front lines" of the office. Hers is the first face that you see when you go there and it just gives such a bad impression. She doesn't seem to remember us no matter how many times we've been there and she doesn't acknowledge your presence even if you're standing right in front of her to pay your co-pay. She doesn't smile and she acts like she's the one doing you the favor of even being at work.. Improvements: A new receptionist who's friendly? Or, send the current one to a customer service class!.

Dr. Natori has been our pediatrician ever since our son was born 4 years ago. He's been excellent and is very easy to get along with. He is great with kids and is typically right on schedule which is pretty good considering how busy he is.
He is very knowledgeable in offering advice and prescribing medicine. One thing that I particularly like is that if there is anything questionable, he is quick to suggest a specialist before the problem gets worse.
All the other reviews about the receptionist are true! My rating would be 5 stars if not for her. She is very grouchy and he should find another receptionist.

We take our 2 yr old to this doctor. He is great. Friendly, good with our kid. He has three younger kids of his own, so he knows and speaks from experience about what you may be going through yourself. He is helpful and you can reach him after hours, though he is very serious and not chatty when he calls you after hours. Wife is a nurse in the maternity ward at Queens, so both are really involved with the medical profession. He is only open during the weekdays, which is understandable as he has a family to care for as well.
The nurse Liz, in the office is great, friendly, remembers you and your kid's name. Very personable in and out of the office. Seems to be very busy all the time in the office, as though she does everything the doctor doesn't do, yet still takes the time to acknowledge you and make a little small talk. Always sympathetic when your kid is sick.
The receptionist is probably the only downside. She is not very friendly, doesn't acknowledge you when you come in the office, and isn't helpful when scheduling appointments. Though it is somewhat understandable, as she is the "gatekeeper" in a sense like secretaries are. It seems like she gets annoyed when you ask her anything. I have noticed that when the doctor takes a Friday off, she isn't in the office on the following Monday and it seems like Liz is handling everything.
We've never had to wait long for an appointment, and as the other reviewer commented, he does have a strict 15 min late policy where you need to reschedule.
I would have rated 5 stars, except for the receptionist's attitude.

I don't know if all pediatricians offices are like this, but not from what I can remember. We are in and out of his office in less than an hour for all visits.
To start off, his waiting room is almost nearly empty, or maybe 2 other families waiting to go in. The longest we've probably waited to see him is about 10 minutes. It could be because his policy is anyone later than 15 minutes *must* re-schedule so as not to create a backlog for people who are on time!
He doesn't rush or hurry you out, he spends the time he needs to with the kids and he's done!
If you need a pediatrician in Hawaii, look no further.
