Although I must admit to liking their soup bar every once in a while. I've never found their menu to be that impressive, the ceasar salad with salmon is good. I'm sure its a great place to take kids, but nothing they serve is fresh and that's why I find it difficult to eat there. They order everything from Gordon Foods, including the Chicken Corn Chowder soup, which is just corn chowder until they add chicken and flavoring to it. more

Wonderful soups at 8th Street Grill! 4/12/2006

This is the place my husband and I love in the winter...especially when we have a cold. Their soup bar is so good...I love the chicken corn chowder w/ a half sandwich. Also, their chocolate malts are the bomb! The place is very kid friendly--I think Tues. or Wed. they even have a kids night--you'll have to call to get the details. more

Great place 4/8/2006

You go to 8th street grille for the soup bar. The chicken corn chowder is what they are best known for. I enjoy their salads as well. My husband always orders the half sandwich (Knickerbocker, he likes it grilled) and soup bar. It gets busy for lunch during the week so I would recommend heading there at 11:00 or 11:30. more

Great place for a casual lunch or dinner 3/27/2006

This is a restaurant that is great alone or with the kids. The soup bar is locally famous and offers an all you can eat option sure to satisfy any appetite. The sandwiches and burgers are also good, and if your child loves macaroni--they have Kraft! Just like mom makes! They are kid friendly. It is a bit loud as it is a very open restaurant. There is a good selection of beer as well. The wait staff is friendly and the service and food is fast. more

Soup and MORE! 8/11/2005

I love going to Eighth Street Grill for the soup bar, which is what it's known for. But, everything I've ever ordered at the grill has been very good. My daughter loves the tater tots and I'm sure they are really low in fat content. The wait staff is always very nice and helpful. more

Love that soup bar! 8/5/2005

8th Street Grill is my favorite place for lunch. They have an outstanding Soup Bar - with a variety of 3 soups and toppings on hand. They always carry my favorite Chicken Corn Chowder and at least two others that vary. They have a very nice - full bar, and knowledgeble bar staff and friendly wait staff. Although their seating is limited they have a pretty quick turn over time and are able to handle quite a lot of people, without TOO much wait. I don't remember ever having to wait longer than a half-hour. more
