The staff at the Archdale Public Library is very friendly. They have a wide selection of literature, computers, and even story time for the little ones. Sometimes they even have visiting storytellers, music, and magicians. They have meeting facilities as well that can be reserved. They also participate in the summer reading program. The Archdale Public Library is a great place to encourage reading!

More
This public library is first-rate, with an excellent collection. New release books are fairly limited, but a reservation system allows patrons to get these in a relatively timely manner. The video and books-on-tape collections are good, but the DVD and books-on-CD collections are very limited. There is a great collection of children's books. Computer and internet access are available, as are reference staff to help with questions and searches. The children's programs are excellent. The library frequently offers craft times, story times, plays, and shows for children, and there is an extensive series of summer programs. The only problem is that these programs tend to fill up fast, and you have to register for many of them in person. All materials and activities are free.

More
This small museum chronicles the history of High Point and surrounding areas, with lots of photographs and historical documents. There are also a couple of historical building, including the one room Hoggart House, which was rebuilt after recently being struck by lightning. The collection is more geared to adults; young children will likely become bored fairly quickly, but do seem to enjoy the full-size bus cab in one display. The museum offers several interesting programs throughout the year, such as pioneer re-enactments, pioneer cooking demonstrations, and craft activities. These offerings tend to be enjoyed by both adults and children, as they are often "hands-on" with historical interpreters. Admission is free, as are most events.
