This restaurant is decorated with colorful knick knacks that make it comfortable and fun at the same time. The exterior fools you because it looks as if there is a gallery or store in the building but it's actually a busy restaurant! They serve a simple menu with a few selections but their ceasar salads are very delicious. Their waitstaff are very friendly with a lot of aloha spirit. This restaurant is tucked away in downtown Hawi so keep a look out for a lot of tourists and locals parked outside of this restaurant during lunch. Great food and atmosphere!

The Kohala Book Shop in Kapaau has a great collection of rare books. They carry over 30,000 books, paperbacks, maps, prints and more. They have books about Hawaii and the Big Island. Their books also cover such topics as the South Seas and Captain Cook. Some of the genres included are history, fiction, biography, mysteries, religion, Americana, and many other categories. The book shop is located in the charmingly restored Nanbu Building and Courtyard, one block from the Original Kamehameha Statue.

I stayed here with my sister at this nice and cozy hotel located in the rural town of Hawi in North Kohala. The Kohala Club Hotel is located on the left just before you enter the town of Kapaau where the King Kamehameha Statue sits. You can't miss this hotel because there is a nice sign hanging over the entrance to the hotel. The Kohala Club Hotel is surrounded by a beautiful, lush garden and it has the basic Hawaiian style furnishings and cable T.V. I had nothing to complain about since the staff were pretty friendly and the price was right. Also I really liked the location because it was within walking distance to the small town with specialty shops, galleries, and expresso cafes.

This is a wonderful experience for those who like to ride ATVs. This ATV adventure tour company takes you through some of the most longest and beautiful trails on the island. They take you through scenic areas in Kohala filled with waterfalls, rainforests and ocean cliffs. Some of the trails have spectacular ocean views of the Kohala coast. This is a great tour for the entire family. I would recommend this adventure tour company to families.
