The Sampan Inn has wonderful, reasonably priced Japanese and Chinese cuisine. We usually get takeout, and it is ready quickly and always includes all the sauces and extras that we might need. I especially like the Singapore Noodles which have just the right amount of spice, and the Spider sushi roll which is loaded with soft shell crab and no extra mayonnaise or anything weird. The best thing about this place though, is that the food is not your typical greasy takeout Chinese food, it is wonderfully fresh and tasty.

I also enjoy the Oakmont Pub. Everytime my boyfriend and i have had dinner there, it was really good. (much to our suprise!) I would def. recommend eating there, for just a casual night for dinner and a few cocktails. Also, for the single ladies, Starting in Sept. Visit Jeff, the bartender.(he has off over the summer) he is SUPER hot!!

I originally heard about this place from clipper magazine and fell in love! I drive all the way from Northeast Philadelphia to sample some of their cuisine! They have a great special n Mondays & Tuesdays where certain types of sushi are half-price. I can't think of a single place where you can buy a spicy tuna roll for like $3.50! They have good chicken choices for people that don't like fish ;(FRESH hibachi!) You have to try this place, but bring a coupon, or go on a day with the special prices to save money.

I like this place so much more than Rita's. More choices, quicker lines (even though they seem busier) and nice people. That's it, just thought I'd check in with that. Oh, the Columbo fat free frozen yogurt can easily be mistaken for soft-serve ice cream:)

Westgate Pub is located in Havertown. It is a small restaurant and bar that also features a take out area. Beer is available to purchase in the takeout area.
The food at Westgate is outstanding and reasonably priced. They have a good sized menu, that everyone can find something that suits them. A few items on the menu that are especially good are the cheesesteaks, sandwiches and pasta dishes. But, everything is good. Make sure to read the specials as you walk in.

I've been to Barnaby's for just regular dinner and I've been there for a function. At the regular dinner with my family, the food was poor and even cold! But the function I went to was a another story. They have a really cool private room downstairs with a big bar in the center and pool tables. It's such a fun, different place to have an event. The food for that function was good, still not stellar, but better than I had eaten upstairs.

This is a French Restaurant with an Asian twist. It is located on a side street off of Darby Rd. in downtown Havertown. It is only open for dinner, and is very small and cozy. There is a small selection of dishes, but they are superb. A meal will run about $30 per person, but it is well worth the cost.

I think this is one the best-kept secrets in Havertown. The toppings on the pizza are so fresh I catch myself picking them off and eating them before they go in the oven. The people running the place are really nice too. Pizzas are done in about 15 minutes and are hot and crispy. I always get a salad too. Keeps me from eating that extra slice. Know what I mean:)
