We go to the peds all the time especially for trivia on tuesdays. We also go in Friday nights and sometimes saturday and sundday days. We enjoy the food and the atmosphere. The service is always great and the bartender always remembers my drink, she makes a great sapphire martini. We recommend the leek soup and the chowder. (Fridays and Saturday) We love to go there and if you like a nice relaxed environment you will love the peds.
Pros
-Food
-Fish and Chips, smoked salmon, chowder, lamb mini burgers
-The friendly staff, nearly all Irish
Cons
-Bathrooms are always so cold
Pros: FOOD AND SERVICE
Cons: PARKING

We used to like going to the Peddler's Daughter, but today we had a terrible experience and will never return there nor to Bistro 45. We were seated; two other tables were filled about 10 minutes after us. Both were tended to by waitresses; they were served drinks and ordered their food. We waited 20 minutes, and no one came to our table. We got up to leave, and still, no one came over. This is the poorest service we have had ever! We used to tell our friends all over the North Shore about the two restaurants, and now we will be sure to tell them not to go to either.
Pros: Food, price.
Cons: Service, service and service

We live in Haverhill, and eat here often. Fish & Chips as good as you will find you will find anywhere, have recommended it to colleagues visiting from the UK, and they were very pleased. Great pub-style atmosphere, can be very busy during prime time hours. Don't skip the desserts either.
Pros: Casual, fun, friendly atmosphere, very good food
Cons: If you are not a fan of dark wood grain pub feel, you might pass

The Peddler's Daughter is owned and operated by a husband-and-wife team (Mike and Maggie) who hail from the Galway Bay area in western Ireland. You'll often see Mike or Mags working there, along with several of their family and a collection of other friendly staff. The pub offers an excellent selection of beers and liquors, and the food is both tasty and an excellent value.
Try the authentic fish & chips; it is served old-style, wrapped in paper and with homemade Irish ketchup. Or try the Guinness beef stew for a hearty meal in a bowl. A number of other good selections and specials round out the affordably-priced menu.
Live Irish music is often played after 9PM on Fridays and Saturdays, and a big screen TV always has the biggest sporting even running (including FIFA soccer/football at times).
The Peddler's Daughter is located in a cozy basement in the Wingate Arts District in the heart of the much-revived Historic [Downtown] Haverhill, and is a true taste of Ireland.
Pros: Not your standard pub fare - very Irish!
