Apron Strings the restaurant is definitely a hole in the wall. The max capacity is about 25 diners, although I've never seen it that full. The decor is definitely bargain basement with some Jamaican souvenir pieces thrown in. I've never met anyone who ate there who cared. They serve mostly standard Jamaican food, but do it well. Service is friendly and the food is good, especially if you like spice. Jerked pork, jerked chicken, curry goat, oxtail, rice and peas (which are beans called peas) and several kinds of fish are on the menu. The jerk ranges from mildly spicy to fairly hot; I like it however spicy it is this time around! They serve both American and Jamaican-style drinks and a bunch of fried things that work well as snacks and appetizers. The main drawbacks are the neighborhood and the lack of vegetables. I like Jamacian food, but I must say that I love Apron Strings Jerk Chicken. The food there is absolutely amazing, the best jerked anything that I have ever had. There is a wide range of food available. You can pre order walk it or take out, whichever you prefer. They also do catering which is great for the hollidays. The food is reasonably priced.
