This has to be the best cut and color salon in Hanover. Marsha and Jen are very experienced and proffessional.
They had a couple of lousy stylists for a short time, but Marsha got rid of them quick.
Jen and Marsha specialize in all color and hilites as well as fixing/correcting other salons mistakes.(2 barbershops in town)
Precision cutting and styling is as good as any NY Salon.
Pricing is about the same as everyone else in the area.
Easy to find in the Nuggett Building. Try it, you'll like it.

Main Street Kitchen is along Main Street in Hanover, NH, about a block away from Dartmouth College's campus. It carries great kitchen items and housewares-- from mid to high end. It's all crammed into a tiny store, but rivals Williams Sonoma, etc for range of items. The women are knowledgeable and extremely helpful. If you want something they don't have, they can and will order it. For what they carry, their prices are great.
For the college students who are looking to decorate dorm rooms or pick up some inexpensive starter pieces, this is not the place for you. One of the other reviewers was clearly in that phase of life. Definitely head to West Leb to load up at KMart or Walmart. I've been there, but now I'm looking to building a kitchen with quality items to last a lifetime. Main Street is a great little store in Hanover to do this!

The food here is definitely gourmet at its best and each course is spaced appropriately for a nice relaxing dining experience. The decor is rustic and casual and enjoyable to look at. The salad bar is very creative with some unique salad bar items you do not usually see at other restaurants. You can count on more than one server waiting on your so you feel like you are being treated like royalty. Do not be in a rush when you eat here.

The ONLY place to have breakfast in Hanover. Sure, you can go spend a fortune at the Hanover Inn, or get substandard fare at EBA's, but if you want a good, hearty breakfast in a bustling diner atmosphere, Lou's is where you want to be. The baked goods are great ... try a scone or a cruller. Or a mile-high apple pie! The Eggs Benedict are very good, and you can't beat the variety on the menu, from honest-to-GOODness porridge, to several southwestern dishes, to some of the best waffles on the planet. Staff are pleasant but busy, you'll have to wave your coffee cup to get a refill, and don't be surprised if there's a line during normal meal times. Worth the wait, though, if you can afford the time. A real institution. Love it!

"5 Olde" as its known to the locals is known as the dive bar in Hanover. It is located in an alley off Main st down a long flight of stairs. It is very closed in space and I do not reccomend visiting if you are clostrophobic. Smoking is allowed so be aware, at times it can get pretty smoky. Big crowds show up on Tues night for the famous "wing night" with .35 wings. While both Dartmouth and non-Dartmouth people attend there is not much mixing of the crowds. Suprisingly the steaks here are good, they become very good when price is a factor. If a smoky dive bar with locals is what your looking for 5 Olde is the golden nugget!

Set among the rolling hills of Hanover, NH, each guest room is individually decorated in a Colonial motif, with a private bath, cable TV, and air conditioning--and special touches to help you feel pampered. The hotel is a stones throw from campus and has an entrance on Main street in hanover (the shopping area). The hotel staff is professional and always willing to help. The hotel is owned and operated by the college so if you can arrange reservations through a faculty or staff member rates will be drastically lower, though you have to make these plans months in advance.

All I have to say is the "Luck of the Irish" must have been with us last week as we wandered into Murphy's on the Green in Hanover, NH for lunch. Although many years ago I do remember a counter style restaurant in this location I was plesantly surprised at the "new" atmopshere. Murphy's on the Green opened on May 5th 1991 and has an Irish/English Pub mixed with a library feel. Dark Wood, Books and mural like pantings decorated the walls. Booths and table seperated from the bar and the doorway by half glass and wood walls. Quite inviting, cozy and literary feeling.
The menu, a bit of the irish pub flavor like Mamma Murphy’s Meatloaf served with garlic mashed potatoes, Murph's Original Fish & Chips, And one of my selections Murphy’s Irish Stew, sirloin combined with traditional vegetables in a hearty beef stock flavored with Guinness. A true olde world favorite This stew was outstanding. Perfect for a cold winters day. Other great items are the Ultimate Nacho's which I choose to acompany my stew. "Awesome Burgers" many Mexican, Italian and Asian dishes the sounded great. Yellow fin tuna, duck, cellophane noodles, calamari, steaks and "tree Hugger" selections and a fish taco on the menu that sounded like we had to go back to try them. One of the special soups was also tried, a cream of chicken, large chunks of chicken breast in a sweet cream base. Lots of chicken.
The food at Murphy's on the Green was hearty. And in Irish Pub tradition they offer Ales, Stouts, Lagers & More! A cup of stew was filling, a bread bowl of stew, a complete meal. I found the quality to be well above the average. Presentation was casual. Not only did we have a waiter, but there was also a head waiter type that made sure everyone was well taken care of. Prices were reasonable especially for a college town. My recommendation...try Murphy's on the Green the next time you are in Hanover, and bring your appetite.
