Quality Child Care 11/22/2011

Woodland is a very well qualified daycare the teachers are well educated and most have degrees. Woodland is very passoniate and caring. They take time to make you feel welcome and your child comfartable. I can name a few great teachers who has made me feel nothing but the best for me and my child Ms Harris, Mrs Mendoza, Ms Moore, Mrs Gildon and dont forget Ms Lynn. more

I am a student at Purdue Calumet and i recently had the opportunity to observe the classroom 10, with teacher Ms. Ybarra. I have done this with several schools but was most impressed with this class of 4 year olds The teacher was very attentive to the children and they were very advanced, with their math, counting, even the language development. After speaking with several of my classmates, many had children who had attended Woodland and felt that their children had recieved excellent care there. more

great learning enviroment 3/27/2011

both of my granddaughters now 5 and 6yrs old have been attending woodland daycare since they were toodlers and we are very pleased at the progress they have made. I am always impressed with how the staff helps them to learn while having fun. I would highly reccomend this daycare. more

Left my 2yr. old son in his diaper for 10 HOURS 2/19/2010

I sent my 2 yr. old son here for 2 days only. On the 2nd day I pick up my son at 5:30pm and he was wearing the same Huggies diaper I dropped him off in at 7:30am, (I bought LUVS for Woodland and Huggies for home). I told Ms. Sandaval(school administrator)the situation and brought her the diaper and the name and phone number of a customer service rep from Huggies. ( I called Huggies and they told the serial numbers on the inside of the straps are in sequential order in my package at home, so there was no way of any other pkg. of diapers to have the same line # in there bag). Ms Sandaval believed me and we had checked the teachers daily records of what she had done with my son. the teacher Fraudulently documented that she had changed my son at 11:30am and 3:30pm. Bottom line the school did not fire the teacher because they said that the Child Welfare said it not neglect to leave a child in a diaper for 10 hours. and the documented fraud was for their school records. So they kept this horrible teacher. after she negleted my son and lied about it on company documents more

Be Aware 1/20/2010

First o all I would like to say I dont have my children in that daycare. However, I am in my children activities in their daycare. I question the teachers on what they do (my kids), I observe the teachers as well and if I see something out of character I say something to make sure that is not what goes on. And on the comment of the kids. I would have been mad if that was me. I give you credit mom. Now my question is if those people in that daycare, What would you have done if that was your child that, that happened too? That should not have happened and ALL parents should have been notified!!!!!!! more

Wonderful place for your little one. 8/16/2005

The Woodland Child Development Center Inc is a wonderful place for your little one. There they learn a lot of stuff. Anything from how to read to how to color in the lines. They do charge though. The price is about average. The teachers are great with kids and perfect role models. This place is highly recommended for your youngster. more

  • Welcome to Woodland Childcare! Woodland Child Development Center is located in Hammond, Indiana and serves all of Lake County and Northwest Indiana. This child care development center is a not for profit learning environment, and has over 37 years of experience. We address the development of the whole child: social, emotional, physical, cognitive and language development. We use the Creative Curriculum, a tested curriculum, as a basis for learning. The facility is state licensed, N.A.E.Y.C. accredited and currently enrolled in the Indiana Paths to Quality Rating system. We know and understand how difficult it can be to find a trusted child daycare service. We care for your child in a manner that allows for a safe and healthy learning environment. Working in a cooperative effort with our families allows for children to receive the best program we are able to offer.Woodland is open all year, and is only closed on seven major holidays. We provide service for children from 12 weeks to six years of age during the social school year. For children from seven to 12 years of age, we provide a summer camp program and major holiday care for winter breaks.
