B & W Bakery is THE BEST bakery ever. My wife and I spotted it one day and decided to go in. I'm glad we did because we were salivating over everything available to us. The aroma definitely makes you want to buy the entire shop, and yes, the crumb cake is that good. We didn't realize until after we left how famous this place is. I'm glad we went in and experienced such magnificent service. Now if we could only have this delivered to us every day, we would be in heaven.

Great Indian food. Perfect for vegetarians. Just let them know your spice level (Low, Medium, High etc). Good customer service. Guy in french cut is very friendly and gentle. They serve buffet in lunch that's also very good. It's a nice resturent. I would recommend Kashmiri Damaloo, Kadhai Paneer, Stuffed Naan etc.

White Mana is what it is. A nice little burger joint that serves GREAT burgers, enough said. They don??????t have a sign out front saying ??????Home of the best burgers in New Jersey?????? or ??????Please order only ___ many?????? or anything??????the only chide is to not talk on the cell phone, which is understandable.
It is a great place for what it is and what it claims to be. A burger joint. I feel like the guy under me is pretending like this is La Cirque or something. The grill in the front is probably what makes the place. It would be so bland if you get there and there??????s just a bunch of servers standing in front of you taking orders. It??????s great to see what you??????re getting and guess ??????hmmm are those three mine??????the guy before me asked for 6 right?...hmmm they don??????t look like they have onions??????.oh wait those are mine??????.??????. And its like a survival of the fittest when someone gets up and you try to squeeze your way in for a seat at the counter.
I went to Yale and was able to go to Louis Lunch (look it up and how famous it is if you don??????t already know) in New Haven from time to time and what really put me off about the place was the attitudes of the owners/operators/grill men. The whole ??????No ketchup?????? line is crap and just makes them look like they are trying to be superior. Louis Lunch is kind of like Jerseys White Mana but WM is a real honest to goodness great place with great operators and grill men. At Louis Lunch it??????s a bunch of pompous New Haven townies.
And PS You could get killed by a driver crashing into your house right now. The area does have probably more risk than a few other places on River but it??????s obviously not that bad if nothing has happened in 30 plus years.

I visited Houston's recently with my fiance and another couple who had come there before.. Even though it was a bit on the pricey side, it proved to be worth it when the food came... The spinach dip and bbq ribs are beyond good... YUM. I will definitely be back there...
Pros: Great tasting food
Cons: A bit pricey

Yeah - M&S "one" pizza on the Rockaway/dover border is the BEST in NJ as far as i'm concerned for "regular/classic" pie. Cant forget a grape drink - they are known for them. And dont ask a lot of questions, the old man has NO patience whatsoever. Know exactly what you want before you step up to the counter!

Everytime I am in New Jersey I have to stop by "The Shack". The food is amazing. Everyone that works there is super nice. There is no reason to go to another restaurant in the area until you have tried everything on the menu. You might pay a bit more but it's worth every penny! Good fish ain't cheap, CHEAP FISH AIN'T GOOD!!!!!!
Pros: Great Food, Fun Bar Crowd
Cons: Bar is a bit too small

Though the name may bring to mind Linda Carter's unmentionables, Wondee's provides a memorable dining experience. The decor is elegant, relaxing, and full of nice little touches (such as the subtly different vases on each table, each with a different flower in it). Even the plates are pleasingly shaped. Service is friendly and efficient. Food is beautifully presented, and the flavor lives up to the promise.
Standard fare such as spring rolls and pad thai are done simply and well. Satay portions are generous and tender. Curry puffs have a delicate, flaky crust and complex flavor.
The vegetable dumplings, though, are an experience. They come in rice flour packaging and without sauce. The seemingly bland exterior, however, hides a surprising filling. A variety of vegetables and spices are mixed together, bound into a sweet, sticky, and somewhat hardened ball by what seems to be a honey-based sauce. It's enough to make your taste buds do a double-take at the first bite, but it makes for an appetizing delight once you get used to the idea.
For dessert, try the anagram ice cream - it's not just fried, it's fired. Although it's not on the menu, you can also ask to have it served plain. A large scoop of homemade green tea, coconut, or vanilla comes in a boat-shaped bowl, with sauce, whipped cream, and a cherry on top. I'm not usually a fan of green tea (in general or as an ice cream), but the flavor is well-presented here. Distinctly (and perhaps even somewhat intensely) green tea, but sweet, full-bodied, and without that oddly dry aftertaste. Rich, quality ice cream.
The one thing that seemed out of place in all this was the music. I'm a fan of classic rock, but listening to Queen's "We Will Rock You" (followed by the Beatles' "Yesterday") while your eyes, nose, and mouth are savoring gentle Thai elegance can cause a bit of cognitive dissonance.
Overall, though, an outstanding experience.
Pros: Excellent food, beautiful atmosphere, great service
Cons: Odd (though not actually bad) music

More
Ichiban Japanese Restaurant in Hackensack was one of the first Japanese restaurants I experienced in New Jersey. I was totally mesmerized by the decor that included a real Japanese flavour to the place.
I know what Japanese food tastes like coming from a very Asian culture so I knew that Ichiban needed to impress me with its food. There is a choice to have a traditional sushi meal or go to the hibachi bar. If you haven't experienced a hibachi meal at all, you need to rectify it and Ichiban is good place to start. Every ingredient is fresh and you can definitely taste it as they prepare your meal right in front of you. Even better are the tricks the chef performs while cooking. He entertains and feeds you at the same time.
If hibachi isn't your cup of tea, you can then just order from their vast selections in their menu. You can't go wrong with anything you choose from as, again, the food is fresh and fantastic.
The staff is very friendly and courteous to all their customers. The restaurant itself is very big and spacious. Even better, it's connected to the Best Western Hotel so you can imagine that all types of people drop in to this restaurant. But watch your pocketbook. It can get expensive, especially with the hibachi meal. The lunch, however, is really worth it, though.
I've enjoyed myself every time I've gone to Ichiban Japanese Restauarnt and have yet to be disappointed.
PROS: Fresh food, hibachi, lunch selection
CONS: Expensive
