If you are downtown and want to eat somewhere a little trendy, stop into Ganache. Their bakery is amazing and will have you drooling as you are taken to your table. You can even purchase huge cookie boxes and give them as gifts (this has saved me many times in the gift department). The rooftop is by far the best seating, so the best time to go is in the spring or in the late summer/early fall when the weather is the best. Sit on the rooftop, eat a delicious lunch for around $10 and enjoy one of their toffee cookies for dessert. There is always art on the walls and the wait staff is heavenly!

Every single DJ worth his or her salt can tell you what Ultimix is! Ultimix is a company that takes popular songs and remixes them into a perfect new song. Anytime you are dancing at a club, you are probably dancing to a remix by these folks. The owners are very cool and drive really cool Corvettes too. They are usually to be found late nights actually mixing and spinning their own stuff. The cds are reasonabaly priced and on average we probably spend at least $150 a month to keep my husband's DJ company up to speed with today's music. Drop in and tell them hello.

My husband and I had our wedding pictures done with Lloyd's Photography and they came our perfectly! We went in with a thought and Lloyd made it a reality. We had black and whites done dressed as if in the wedding...and it saved my skin because we got married on the beach and the photographer would not come out in the rain. When we got married it was drizzling a little so she handed my check back and said "sorry". If I had not already talken those photos with Lloyd, I would have had NO wedding photos. Now, my hubby and I are hanging over the fireplace looking relaxed and dry and happy. Thanks Lloyd.

The hamburgers are not good, but everything else is! Homemade desserts, pictures of Elvis, and a working jukebox are a few of the things that make Tummy Yummy so fun and different. The prices beat Blockbuster to death and the guys that work there are fun and easy going. If you ever need a boost of cultural enlightenment, head over to the Weatherspoon art museum. When I went to school at UNCG I actually had a piece of my art displayed there for a show. There is always something new to look at and the building itself is actually quite impressive. The architect used lots of marble and the ceilings are high and majestic. Just watch out when classes let out, because there will be a surge of college students pouring out of the auditoriums. The bathrooms are clean and spacious and you will not forget your visit here!

Streetcars is one of the best places in Greensboro to get your car washed or detailed! You drive up and they take your "order" and then you get out and your car gets a bath. The prices are average, but the service is not! After the wash, the group of young men and women outside then dry down every crack and crevice of your car. You usually ned to tip them a couple of dollars, but it is definitely worth it! While you wait, have a drink and snack from the machines there and maybe purchase some of the stuff in the mini store. Get your car clean for a good price!

My husband and I recently attended classes at GTCC for contracting. We wanted to learn more about the field and maybe even take the test and become contractors. We signed up in the office and bought about a hundred dollars worth of books each. It was fast and easy and pretty self explanatory. We enjoyed the class, as it was 3 hours long only 1 day a week. The teacher was a really knowledgable guy with a lot to tell us. We made great contacts, and would definitely take another class there. If you look in the course catalog you will see classes from cooking for beginners, to real estate, to health and fitness. You really cannot go wrong.

If you know me at all, you will know that I will definitely be drawn in with a half off wine promotion! Cafe Europa does this on Wednesday nights and a group of us used to go quite often. Lately though we have not been as happy with the table seating process and they stopped carrying my favorite Reisling. We still stop in once in awhile because of the beautiful patio seating, but overall it lost our complete attention. Oh and someone tell the owners that they need to add something to the sad little menu.
