We have a new stadium downtown and a new baseball team to play in it. They are surprisingly enough called the Greensboro Grasshoppers. I am guessing that this name came from the fact that everyone if trying to be politically correct and not name their team something that could offend someone. They are pretty darn good for such an awful name and we enjoy watching them play. Or should I say that we enjoy the drinking and socializing while they play?

Coming from a city with it's own major league baseball team, I was ready to say that the Grasshopper's were lame. Boy, was I surprised! We had a great time at the games last season. The level of play is obviously not in line with MLB, but the players are fun to watch. The food is great, and there are always a ton of people at the games, so it is a fun social event as well. They have a nice playground for the children, but there are usually too many kids, many who are too old and rough to be playing on it.

The Greensboro Grasshoppers are a fabulous group of young men, who have come together from all over the country for the love of baseball. The team has an excellent spirit and is always ready for an entertaining night of exciting competition. The Grasshoppers can be found in the prime location of downtown Greensboro where the skyline is glittering with stadium lights just about every night of the season. The atmoshere of the cheering crowd and the charm of the newly designed stadium bring families together for evenings of good summer fun.
