  • Not impressed.

We aren't regular customers of Ham's, but we do go every 2-3 months or so.
We went to Ham's Lakeside last week. First, they changed the menu about a month ago (according to our server) and took off the one thing I get every single time (Oriental Chicken Salad). The server kindly offered to see if they had any of the oriental sauce in the kitchen to make it for me....but I declined (who would want to eat something leftover and untouched from a month ago?!).
My husband's burger was not thoroughly cooked - lots of pink in the middle. He specifically asked for it to be well done with no pink, and was assured that all their burgers are cooked and served with no pink.
Our service was terribly slow, the food less than impressive. I do believe that was the last time we will ever go to Ham's.

  • Great view!

Ham's Lakeside's patio has a great view of Lake Buffalo and the backs of the beautiful houses in New Irving Park. The food and atmosphere are what you would expect from a bar and grill, although their Tuesday special is the Charlie Cheeseburger and a side for $2.99. You can't beat that price! I love their homemade hot chips. My kids love to watch the train loop around the restaurant, near the ceiling. Laid back, good food, reasonable prices

  • Tasty food! Great patio seating! Fun sports bar!

Ham's is a local sports bar chain that serves a good variety of sandwiches and other simple dishes. They are known for their chips -- which are their speciality. The location at Lakeside is great -- they have outside patio seating so you can eat your meal while having a great view of the lake. Food is tasty and reasonably priced. My 4 year old loves going there -- but he likes sitting inside so he can watch the train go around the ceiling. Service has always been great: friendly and courteous staff and a talented quick kitchen staff.

Ham's is a smaller local restaraunt known for its chips and ranch and fun sports bar type atmosphere. We eat in one of the Ham's at least once a week it seems. My favorite is the Ham's Lakeside, because you can sit on the patio in nice weather and look out over the lake and have your meal. The servers are always nice, the food is always great, and they have a fun bar area with pool tables, tvs, and lots more. If you go, try the vegetables soup, the carrots with ranch, and maybe the Ham's sandwich. Oh yeah, and the brownie for dessert.
