Excellent food. Try to save room for the rich chocolate cake for desert. It has one of those molten centers. In the fall and winter, the Sunday brunch is awesome. Generous portions Friendly and competent wait staff, efficient service. Nice kids' menu, and the requisite crayons/placemat kit for children Very reasonable prices, especially for a town where they could get away with gouging. PROS: appetizers, entres, deserts! CONS: smoke ventilators don't really work as well as they should

I've actually eaten at the Tavern quite a few times, though I can't say any of those times I went because it was the best place to think of. Normally I went because of convenience. Of all the times I've eaten there, I've ordered the same menu item 3 times. This is how I learned how inconsistent their entrees are. One time I loved the salad I had, another time it was barely average, and a third time it was so horrible I can still taste how bad it was when I think about it. Their food offerings are nothing special.. typical run of the mill choices. And their pricing is not exactly competitive. Once I ordered two slices of cake from the dessert menu to go and it cost me $13. All I can reccommend is to go here if you have scare other options, but don't make a special trip.
