I purchased a bowling ball from spectrum lanes ($175 out the door) and was very impressed with the knowledge and expertise of the resident pro, Andy. Because I was changing styles of releasing the ball from straight to a mild hook I wasn't sure about what things to look for when buying the ball or how to throw it for that matter. Thanks to the modern materials in these newer bowling balls and guidance from Andy, I have now bowled my best game of all time. A 239! What a difference a knowledgeable person can make when making a purchase.

Mind you, I ranked Spectrum Lanes a Very Good based on other bowling alleys. Spectrum Lanes is MUCH better than most bowling alleys here in Grand Rapids. They are much cleaner and family friendly than most here in town. They offer bumpers for children and on certain nights, they have the black light bowling. They have tons of lanes and balls of all sizes/weights. Woodys, the restaurant adjacent to the bowling alley, will serve you food in the bowling alley. They also have an area with pool tables, a couple TVs with games, and darts. In terms of bowling alleys, The only downside to this bowling alley is the staff isn't typically very friendly. I would recommend this bowling alley especially since they often times run specials and have coupons.

There were ramps available for our children to use if they wanted and bumper bowling was also available. There is a quality restaurant attached to the alley as well for your dining/snacking needs.

Spectrum Lanes is your typical bowling alley. You go in and bowl and leave smelling like smoke even though you do not smoke. Although it could use some updating it is fun to go and have a good time with your friends. I am not a great bowler but I manage to have fun none the less.

Im not a very good bowler, but when I do go bowling I usually end up here at Spectrum Lanes. They have a lot of lanes so even when there are quite a few people bowling, you usually dont have to wait to get a lane. Like with all bowling alleys, the lanes will mess up and you will become frustrated and have to wait for a worker to fix it, but it has its perks too. Lots of bowling balls to choose from and some are very nice colors.
