I have a lot of food allergy problems. This means I have to shop at organic food grocery stores and buy food low in gluten and without lactose. Therefore regular shopping at the local Jewel is out of the question. While shopping at a specialty gluten-free store I heard several people rave about Trader Joe's. Excitedly I stopped by this particular store in Glenview. Holy COW what a disappointment. There was little organization to this place. Shelves seeemd randomly stocked, with items seemingly thrown on the shelves with little regard to organization, labeling or easy-access. The parking lot is an umitigated disaster, making getting in and out of this place harder than breakig into Fort Knox. I had trouble finding the gluten free food. I was disappointed in the selection, finding it much less than Whole Foods. The place was crowded, hard to walk through. I have never been back, would not recommend this place to a friend and would rather travel much further to shop at Whole Foods and pay their prices than attempt to shop here again.

Trader Joes is a lovely organic food market. The selection of organic fruits and vegetables as well as the selection of pre-made foods is extensive. The atmosphere of the grocery store is very laid back and the people working there are generally very happy and agreeable. They provide good advice and are willing to help.

If you are vegetarian, seeking organic products, gourmet cook, or just looking for something unique, Trader Joe's is worth a special trip. Large selection of organic and natural foods at prices the average shopper can afford. Most Trader Joe's own brand. Unique and interesting finds in all areas of the store. Large selection of grocery, frozen, refrigerated foods,and wines. However, fresh produce very limited selection, as is fresh meat. Bakery section also on the small side, lots of breads and cookies but you won't find much in the way of fancy cakes or pastries here.
